What gets me is that some people actually act surprised at this turn of events. Really? And then there is the hypocrisy of “some” of the Evangelical leaders who like to trout out their moral superiority in all things but have yet to back away from supporting Trump.

The Atlantic notes that evangelicals who continue to support Trump owe Bill Clinton an apology for pretending that it was moral outrage and not just partisan preference that made them fulminate against one while shrugging off the other. “We’re not voting for Pope here!” is the new refrain, but they might as well be saying, “We’re not voting on the basis of morality here!”
