Legs pulled together but hands spread wide, 

Mysta sees her friends and is surprised. 

“What brings you boys to my new chill room? 

Cuz I’m thinkin’ it’s not for a little boom boom.” 

But Tracy is the one who has the query, 

“Why’s the room so cold?” he asks the little blonde fairy. 

“I’m just chillin’, Tracy, if you really must know, 

Set the room at 30 cuz I wanted it low.” 

“Why is that?” says Tracy, with an ominious glance. 

“I think you know why, I just want to dance!”

I researched this idea several days ago and it looks like it would be mega-expensive to carry out such a deal. TMS don’t give out numbers. You have to ask and tell them how many people are viewing your site. King Features do give out numbers. Something like up to 3 strips (I guess that means like three days of Beetle Bailey, etc.) is about $200-and-somthing a year if your audience is smaller than 500. Some kind of figures like that.

Not to be bested this morning, I must join in…….. “There once was a man from Nantuckett….”

Beginning with yesterday’s first showing of Mysta’s “chill room,” I can only say that this is a reminder of how much I miss the original Moon Maid – and how much I (and others) wanted Mysta to have been the original, as well. Of course, we know that she isn’t. And while I, personally, don’t buy that Lunar DNA totally wiping out the consciousness and existence of criminal Mindy Ermine, nevertheless, that is the “reality” that we have been dealt for the time being.

A secret wish of mine is that, someday, as long as Lunarians are to remain a prominent feature of this incarnation of Dick Tracy, is that maybe the original Moon Maid really did survive, after all. At some point, perhaps with Mindy’s consciousness meddling with Mysta’s DNA, that the new Moon Maid will create a mess so bad that the original Mysta will have to return to straighten it out.

Mindy was always second best

lagging behind all the rest

Never content with her natural looks

She desperately searched through self help books

Hoping to find true happiness

Mindy thought surgery would bring her some bliss

But all it accomplished was a personality flip

Tracy and Sam have the usual vapor coming from their mouths, that one would expect in 30 degree temps. And Diet is (stupidly) stinking up the room with his cigar. But Mysta has no cold breath vapor. Is her breath not warm enough to cause the vapor?

I love these scenes. Seeing Mysta and learning about her ongoing changes into a lunar woman never fail to get me emotionally revved up. Mysta is so expressive with her hands and facial expressions, and I like the ominous sideways glance Tracy gives her, too.

I love everything about the moon story. I wish it didn’t always take so long to get back to it.

I hope Mysta’s imprudent words in panel 3 do not lead Tracy to consider her a suspect in the probable homicide of Representative Bellowthon. Unfortunately, she may not know what Tracy views as the “why” of it….

Mysta is a sweetheart and a powerhouse. I can’t imagine she had anything to do with Bellowthon’s death. Hopefully Tracy and Sam will come to the same conclusion before their conversation with Mysta is over.

Lots of talented and passionate fans here! I hope gocomics fixes the mess they’ve created and restores the ability to post images and use html commands.

A sense of Civil Unrest continues to brew.

I’d just suggested over on the Luann boards – in response to someone who didn’t enjoy scrolling past embedded pictures – that surely GoComics could have introduced a button to disable images rather than denying images to all.
