Captain: Listen…chaps…there’s still a chance. I’m…done for, I’ve…got a gammy leg and I’m going fast; I’ll never get through. But…some of you might. So…you’d better eat me.Sailor #1: Eat you, sir?Captain: Yes. Eat me.Sailor #2: Iiuuhh! With a gammy leg?Captain: You needn’t eat the leg, Thompson. There’s still plenty of good meat. Look at that arm.

Well, here’s hoping it’s one of those smart bombs, that at least takes you to theatre and dinner before accidentally killing you.

This thought occurred to me earlier. I wonder of a pre-transformed Philomena is going to appear in this arc.

At this point, getting the mutagen evidently requires direct contact. Buddibomb goes “Boom”, kills Ethel and knocks Holly out. The force of the blast causes a miscarriage. While Holly is knocked out, she undergoes her transformation. Now, let’s see if I get any of this right.

BuddiBombs are children-friendly. They’re not so concerned about adults. I don’t think it’s going to have a really tightly contained blast radius.

Assuming Ethel was a good friend, odds are she might have been at the baby shower. If so, given the hairstyle, I would guess Ethel may have been the tall, skinny one. At least she hasn’t lost her figure. Limbs are another story…. ;-)

Someone’s about to get hoisted by their own petard. And because I looked up what a ‘petard’ is, it’s a type of 16th century bomb. So yeah, this seems accurate.

Okay, I didn’t expect the Buddibombs to have legs, though it kind of makes sense that they would be automated. I think we’re about to see how well the Intelligent Threat Assessment REALLY works.

Here comes the Buddibomb, our semisentient protector who is cute as can be, keeping our race pure through sudden explosions. How smart is it?We’ll see, Holly cannot disarm it, will the bomb allow her to leave or see her as “contaminated”?Is it a micromunition of variable power?I mean, it takes far less explosive power to kill a snake than a Rhino..I blame Nintendo for making bombs cute in the first place..

Maybe BuddiBombs just go up to a mutant and flail at them with their tiny arms, distracting them while their owner runs for help.

If I said Buddi looks like a Jack In The Box antenna ball, would very many people understand? Jack In The Box is a fast food “restaurant”. They used to give away foam balls to put on car antennae so one could find their car in a large parking lot. Yeah, it is the beige Camry with a Jack In The Box antenna ball. Links in profile.

Could the buddibomb have gotten into Holly purse, either when she tripped at home after the shower or later during the car accident?

The expression on Ethel’s .. um, face … does not seem too convincing.

There are a lot of comments about the Buddibomb getting in her purse by accident. There are a lot of things we don’t see but we DID see Holly get a box of them and we knew she wanted to get at least one. There is no reason she wouldn’t have one on her person in spite of Lyn’s objection.

They are still on the Holodeck of the Ella Und Fitzgerald, right? (Is it live, or is it Memorex?) And this scenario featuring pre-mutation Holi is playing out for them, instead of Holi?

Curious? Is Holly Bodhisattva? That would explain why she still has shoes, and could move on, but stays on the purification plane to help others. I have more questions than answers.

I’m confused. Hasn’t Ethel realised yet that she is a snake? Hasn’t she looked down at herself, let alone looked in a mirror? She says she looks “strange” but that is a major understatement. I would expect her to be totally freaking out, but she seems pretty calm.

From what I’ve seen so far, Holly wasn’t too tightly-wrapped before her transformation, so bouts of crazy afterwards are to be expected. Seems the mutations have been around for a while if they’ve developed Buddibombs to go after the transformed and are selling them to civilians. Things are going to go downhill fast for poor Ethel and Holly.

I’m still amazed by the buddibombs being mobile. How fast can they move? At what range are they triggered? If you have 12 scattered around your house, would they all converge on a single threat? If it skitters after a threat, at what range will it go off? How does it identify a “threat”?

Those were the “BuddiBombs” she had bought for a gift for them, weren’t they? Unless they’re somehow psychically activated by the person holding them? The “blame” part seems to be nebulous right now.
