Kate: So what's the point of being in a constant state of outrage, Danae? Danae: 'Cuz that's how the world works, Kate. Kate: Uh...really? How so? Danae: Apparently, if you're always in a rage, people will mindlessly go along with it, figuring you must be right if you're so outraged. 'Scuse me, but it's time for an outrage update... Voice from out of frame: ATTENTION, MINIONS... Kate: This is why I think you should block cable news channels, daddy. Ned: Good idea.

Faux Noise and MSNBC followed rapidly by Bloomberg News and CNN would head my blocking list…Wait a minute ! I don’t watch any of them, now.

The vitriol and outrage on cable news during the 2008 campaign cycle is when and why we dumped cable service completely. Finally got rid of the TV as well along about 2012.

In the interest of fair and balanced “outrage” at the outrageous outrage by the outliers ( or outlyer, as I prefer to call them ), I had to add MSNBC to my list.I go back to the days of Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow ( Both were very informative and entertaining ).
Since moving to Ecuador, I get my national news on television via. BBC, AlJazeera, Hong Kong News and some PBS. I have Bloomberg, Faux News and a couple of CNN channels but don’t usually watch them.
As a recovering political and news junkie, I try to limit my daily intake of dross !

Danae’s observational talent is just a little bit off. Kate is right, viewing cable news has given some the impression that some politicians and PR mugs have been impressive and even successful with outrage. A sad commentary on the journalistic scene abused by those with big mouths and lack intelligence.

O.K. All you writers and storytellers out there. If you were going to create a novel with a political background and a cast of highly entertaining, but odious, characters, do you really think you could come up with a better cast of misfits than those currently vying for the presidential crown of thorns ?
Hollywood at its best ( or worst ) could not assemble are more fascinating group of villains and villainesses (?) than are our current newsmakers. From POTUS to SOTUS to SCOTUS to TRUMP, even Shakespeare couldn’t have invented a better bunch of miscreants and malcontents.
Truth is indeed, stranger than fiction…

Yes, satire won’t seem “funny” when the material sails over your head.
