Unbeknownst to Dale, but beknownst to us, Dale is the only patient his doctor routinely prescribes everything for as a suppository. Dale feels pretty good that his doctor always gives him a big smile when he leaves. Well, he did once prescribe something that was actually supposed to be in a suppository. That one, he told him to take by mouth. A little waxy, be he got it down.

Someone’s going to have to help. I doubt he can reach!

One way to get children to take their medications as needed is to explain that you can get the same thing in a suppository. After they ask and you explain what that is, they will swallow the antibiotics or whatever. Quickly and with a smile.

You know that gerbil and tube thing you do, Dale? Sort of like that.
