Looks like Mysta got Honeymoon’s message. Since she lives at Smith Industries, I’m sure she found someone there concerned for Diet Smith’s welfare to hitch a ride with.

Also, it looks like Mr. Bigg was too slow to escape in his helicopter. Putting the floor on lockdown is just going to stop him from escaping down at the ground where the police have the building surrounded. I suppose it’s also going to stop the fighting factions from trying to hitch a ride on the ’copter.

    He’s definitely not smiling now!

The pilot might be Tracy, I suppose, though we do not know him as a helicopter pilot; more likely it is someone else flying Mysta Chimera into the area where Honeymoon is located. It is doubtful, however, whether she has any full idea of what is happening below. But the mere presence of another chopper could delay if not abort Mr. Bigg’s escape plan. We need a view of what the situation is on the streets: how many cops and SWAT teams and their disposition. Are they about to storm the Ace Tower, or just maintain a perimeter? Why exactly are they there? Did T-Bolt/Lee Ebony give them a full report?

A tremendous two-panel strip that highlights the arrival of Mysta. While her arrival bodes well for action at the Ace Tower, the bigger story is the successful telepathic connection between Mysta and Honeymoon. If T-Bolt is Lee Ebony—and I believe she is—she would likely have contacted the MCU upon receiving confirmation of the gold’s location. Things are escalating and I’m loving it.

If the floor is on lockdown, Honeymoon and Annie must be trapped on that floor. And with T-Bolt ordered to stay in the office, who will find them?I wonder which floor the other Blackhearts (and there are so many) are on.With Diet Smith as a potential hostage right at hand, Mr. Bribery may try to force the police to let him leave in his helicopter.SO many possibilities!

I think the reason we haven’t had cutaways to police headquarters is that they’d show Tracy and Fritz Ann listening in to hidden microphones, and discussing the work of their undercover cop, which would have blown a lot of suspense.

Every day I look forward to the art in this strip—world class-! (Especially in B+W.) I wonder if the creators / illustrators are monitoring this blog—if so, I have some production questions to ask—thanks for giving TRACY that respect he’s earned all these decades—cheers—

Hi DT friends & family. I got out of the hospital yesterday and I just finished getting caught up on the story. The sleeplessness is history and I got in my own bed last night … tossed & turned for 3 to 4 seconds then woke up this morning hearing my two roosters saying; get up daddy cause it’s a nice day in the hood! Boy, oh boy that Mr. Big is a real can of worms. I’d bet the farm (hypothetically speaking of course) that his walls are going to come tumbling down sooner than one might think. He’s just one of those fictitious characters that I love to hate. Special hello to some of the DT family; Gweedo, Pequod77, Anyface, Ken in Ohio, VistaBill, Sysiphos, Neil Wick, Ashmael, Ray Toler, Chris Sherlock, Tsull2121, Morrow, Night-Guant49, Starman1948 and to all the ones I did not think of at this moment. Also forgive me if I messed up da spelling. Thanks for you all’s thoughtfulness and prayers through this rough patch in my life. It is not if but it’s when, we will all go through dry & barren places in life at some time or another.

I really had no idea that so many folks cared about me until I became ill. It seems like they came out of the woodwork, and some even came to the farm to help my precious “Green eyed bride” with the day to day stuff. Our farm is fun but it aint always easy !!

I must say “Thank You Jesus” for making me healthy and whole once again and for putting so many wonderful people in my life. This has been a humbling experience to say the least! I love you Lord, King Jesus

I attended my home church last night … “The Crusade For Jesus Apostolic Church” And needless to say we sang and shouted and danced and praised Him and worshiped Him and just carried on before the King. A move of the Holy Spirit touched at least three with healings. Pastor Chuck preached his heart out. WE HAD SOME REAL FUN. Is that even legal? They call me Brother John, and I like praising the Lord!

That alone rules out the pilot’s identity as being that of Dick Tracy, as some on this board have surmised. If it were Tracy, he’d be wearing his trademark fedora.I hope you’re right, actually. But Gould put Tracy in a “ball cap” style hat in the 70s, when he was using the air cars, or on other types of field assignments, such as when he and Sam went searching an old stone quarry during the Johnny Scorn story.

It’s funny, but I’ve always regarded the phrase “needless to say” as one of the most useless phrases in the language …

I think the point is that, “I don’t really need to say this (because you already know), but I’m going to say it anyway, just to emphasize the point I’m trying to make.”

O.K. folks, I was just looking at this strip on another site, and it suddenly dawned on me – that’s not supposed to be a profile of Tracy’s famous nose – that’s supposed to be one of the headphone set that copter pilots wear for communication and ear protection! What do you all think?

I think that’s a Smith Enterprises ’copter, so Tracy is most likely not the pilot____________________

From a logistics standpoint, that does make sense.

Y’Know, if Melies’ faction hadn’t kidnapped Diet Smith, the Blackhearts might have gotten away with it.

And by “it,” I mean the gold from the Billion Dollar Limited.

It’s funny, but I’ve always regarded the phrase “needless to say” as one of the most useless phrases in the language because every time people use it, they go ahead and complete the sentence anyway…LOL!____________________

It might be ‘needless,’ but for the storyteller it might also be satisfying! :)

At first I thought that was Tracy in the helicopter but, as someone mentioned, he’s never been seen operating any flying device other than the air cars and perhaps space coupe. I tend to agree that it is a probably a Diet Smith pilot bringing Mysta from Smith headquarters. Speculation is still wide open on who called the police to begin with.

Looks like we won’t find out if Diet Smith is able to provide a space coupe or not as he won’t be faced with a life threatening decision. This whole thing looks like it’s going to come to an abrupt end with the whole gang captured or shot. Wonder if anyone is going to escape to continue the story? Also wondering if the Blackhearts have an alternate HQ or other henchmen doing basic criminalities elsewhere? Seems they needed a BIG organization to knock off the Apparatus.

If memory serves, the “William Johnston” credit was attached to many TV tie-In novels in the 1970’s, and the plot synopsis sounds as if it might be a belated adaptation of William Dozier’s Dick Tracy pilot …

    … but that’s only a guess.
