Finally a panel of Bribery without that smile! And he knows that “treachery is afoot”! Maybe he’s gotten a bit sharper since the ’60’s (where, until the bitter end, he was supremely overconfident)! Interesting point (at least to me): we still haven’t seen him standing.

There is treachery afoot? No doubt there is, but what does Mr. B know about?

Again, I wonder if T-Bolt would rather stay there because she’s setting the Blackhearts up and they’ll be easier for the law to access right there.

By the way, the aqualung story of BB Eyes is slightly more preposterous than double Bribery story. I notice the current Authors made BB look even more repulsive than Gould did. Any chance he’s wiped out maybe by Apollo’s big gun?

It’s a sampling of the gold. Or a decoy.

Apollo’s gun is big, all right, but not as big as some have been writing, “50mm,” which would be a real cannon (shell diameter roughly 2 inches). It’s .50 caliber (half-inch diameter cartridge). One must wonder how much Mr. Bigg knows or suspects about the treachery afoot. He seems trusting of T-Bolt, so apparently he has no suspicions about her (whereas many of us do). What seems to be left for him to suspect is the Méliès team, who are conspicuously being kept out of the loop by Mr. Bigg. The question is, will they strike before Bigg’s plan can be carried out? And what about the two junior detectives, Honeymoon and Annie, who are lurking about somewhere nearby?

If T-Bolt is Lee Ebony, then her preparations will be for the bad guys.

and 41.6 tons? The only problem I see, is this must be on the ground-floor. It would take some serious structural enforcement to hold that much, in that one area.

Is it possible we’re seeing a tragedy unfolding?

If Bribery/Bigg has not disabled Melies listening devices, then Mellies now know that Bribery knows and should escalate the implementation of their plans before Bribery moves out

If Bribery/Bigg disabled the bugs in his room then Mellies might suspect that Bribery/Bigg found them if those bugs suddenly turn quiet.

The coming days will be very interesting

So, why does Mr. Bigg want to “chat with Mr. Smith”? He already knows about supposed “relics,” so now what can it be?

RE: The gold being way too heavy to be sitting there in the penthouse of a high-rise office tower:Looking carefully at the strips posted above by Willy007, it is just barely possible that the gold in Mr. Bigg’s closet is just a sample – you know, something for him to gloat over (“It’s mine, all mine, he, he, he”) Maybe the bulk of the shipment is in the basement.

We know Méliès is a traitor, as Willy reminds us with a re-post of the memorable Sunday strip. Apollo and Venus were apparently both willing and eager to join in his conspiracy. The question now is what does Bribery know and how did he learn it? Did he find one of Méliès’ bugs? Did Venus think better of her betrayal and betray the betrayers? The “mark of obedience” is a deep scar. Does Bribery have Venus on his leash? It is a rich, complex story that leads to such fun speculation.

I’ve read this strip for a couple of weeks now and I still have no idea what’s going on…

Perhaps Bribery has access to one of the old air cars or at least to the air car technology and levitated the gold up there.

T Bolt’s shades couldn’t possibly look like that in profile-unless they’re slipping off the right side of her face-mistake???

Looks like there are some potential rifts developing in Team Blackhearts. Blaze is clearly not particularly happy with being a part of the organization and I have to wonder how Mumbles will react if it turns out he is left behind.

Read yesterdays comments and I STILL don’t see how t-bolt could REMOTELY be lee ebony. Point in fact…why would Lee beat the living crap out of Johnny…which is what T-Bolt did in her first appearance? (and don’t give me the “t-bolt was arrested by the cops and lee took her place” theory because that wouldn’t work either. bribery would know the difference between the two instantly)

I wonder if Melies was listening in to Blaze’s talk with T-Bolt. If he did, he’ll likely threaten her, maybe to force her to find out how Bribery plans to move the gold.
