Stop complaining about something you can read for free. Or can choose to not read if you don’t like it. it’s not like Jimmy OWES you…

the young fellow sharing the food in the home of the the folks who have ownership of the Dock like many of his age seems to have no concept that one does not critique the hospitality of those who’s food one is eating and who’s roof one is under. then he pulls an “Eddy Haskell” Oh Mr Day I was just telling young Meg how wonderful your food and eating establishment were. Meg should have kicked his ass to the curb at the first complaint!

It doesn’t re-heat well, but growing boys don’t really have a refined palate. :)

Isn’t the Docks restaurant run by Gene and his wife? I am surprised no one commented that the complaint was against him.

As for the ‘toon, I’m not sure whether the kid is being polite/disingenuous, or Gene is a better cook than Gus.

OK, so now we’ve figured out who the kids are – they are Gene’s offspring. Eat your gumbo and shut up.

I know people like that, but I am not one of them. If I don’t like something, it is still OK for others to enjoy it.

Yes! Ladarius’ auntie & uncle buy the Dock and do it right!Maybe then we’ll go there, if the yelp reviews are good.

The boy never said that HE didn’t like the food. He is only repeating what his relatives said. Obviously the boy does like the food. He needs to learn a little tact and when to keep his mouth shut.

Oh my! I have not seen such a clash of opinions over an “Arlo and Janis” story arc before. Some people must have this strip confused with “Funky Winkerbean”.

Some people are born to cook and some just like to stir the pot.

You have convinced us you are owed a refund for the presence of characters other than Arlo and Janis in Arlo & Janis. So we can give your refund, please give all your banking information and someone here will see you are properly taken care of.(heh, heh, heh)

I’m glad Gene is home so we have some perspective on the size of the children. However, I do think their faces look too old, but I’m not gong to complain about that because I think it’s good to have a story line that involves all the old characters and some new ones, too. I realized days ago that this was Gene’s stepdaughter and her friends so could we drop that subject? I care more about the plot: What will Gus do with the restaurant? What will Gene and Mary Lu do if it’s sold? How will Arlo and Janis help?

I agree. Arlo & Janis are well-defined character (& better drawn than these kids are), & their conflicts are the universal male & female tug of war. I like Meg & Gene, but their characters don’t seem to have as much potential. I always like the strips with all four of them & Meg’s father. Meg’s daughter was much cuter as a child. The age JJ has chosen to draw her isn’t a very attractive one. Please use a storyline in which Arlo, Janis, Gene, & Meg are all featured. Meg’s dad & daughter, too. This doesn’t look very promising.

If you pay to read it in the paper, then shouldn’t your comments be in the form of letters to that newspaper?

I don’t mind when comic strip characters age, but this sudden time-jump is a bit disorienting. Still, I love this comic; whatever faults it has are minor compared to so many others.
