I mean Allgood, was thinking to myself, wonder how Jacob is going to contend with Walt when he figures out how he’s rallied everyone. That is, if he doesn’t already know.

It’s Wednesday, m’okay? There may be something or someone behind the eightball(Octavius) yet to come. A bunny and a weasel taking over all the uh, beans, in Endtown. It is what an economist would call a closed economy, with few injections and mostly consumption.JusSayin

Okay, I just started reading this comic a few months ago, and so far I love it. With that being said…….. where is Mallard during all of this? For that matter, where is Marx????

Both seem like the types to interfere at this point, so part of me is expecting them to stop this madness soon.

In the eye of the Endtowners, Jake is still the innocent defender of the milk trio. They don’t know he’s a schemer. This is only obviously for the readers.

Nicely played, Aaron. I don’t believe that Jake planned this and manipulated Allgood into stacking the counsel (otherwise he would have done it himself), but he certainly knew how to take advantage of it when he found out.

Blast it… I had REALLY hoped that Jake was innocent in this. Even if Velda is holding a gun, Octavius has a machine gun, and so do all the rats around them. Rats who know what happened outside, and who are probably starting to realize that they’ve been played too. :/

Nab,I concur that Velda is probably in the center of this and is probably playing Jacob as well as she played Allgood. I suspect that Jacob isn’t in any immediate danger though. She has spent a lot of energy turning him into a hero and needs his popularity to ease them into power. She’ll probably let him go through with most of what he wants as long as she gets the things she wants. If things ever come to a head I suspect that she’d resort to blackmail and threaten to come clean abouthow Jacob REALLY engineered the milk trial. That should keep him under control. Jacob may be a useful idiot, but he will probably remain useful for quite some time. The one question I have is what are the rats going to do? Will the Lt. & company continue to quietly go along?

Should have been suspicious of a “cigarette” smoking lady.Jacob tore down the entire program. The High Council, the Security Force and all and made it look like Allgood did it.I would guess the slaughter at the riots is Jacob’s Reichstag Fire. Jacob will step forward as a guiding hand to Endtown, a “savior” so to say.Allgood does have one card left to play if he has the stuff to do it. (And his gun is loaded with live rounds and Velda is unarmed. That right hand behind her back yesterday was empty. But I do carry a behind the back holster.)The question is if Allgood does it. What would he accomplish? One point. Has anyone else noticed that Jacob for the last few panels is no longer holding a cigarette???? When he started and all we have seen he was never without one. I guess he is getting second hand smoke from Velda.

Two things:.First, I just noticed that the voice I had in my head for the council was the EXACT same voice that I had for Jake Jackrabbit this whole time… although the council voice was more tinny and echo-y from the speakers, of course….Second, I haven’t been paying full attention to the discussions here (although I’ve been absolutely hooked on the story)… but I have an idea that I’m not sure if anyone’s mentioned yet….I’m hearing people talking about the council being stacked. But what if the council is just normal Endtowners, but they only think they are are in charge?.Let’s say that all 10 of the council members push the “Nay” button for a certain vote. What comes through, however, is 7 votes for “Yea”, and 3 votes for “Nay”. Since the council members don’t know who the others are, they might assume they’ll assume that they were one of the “Nay” votes, and that most of the other members disagreed, when in fact, none of the votes were theirs- they were all put in by Jake/Velda/someone else….The one problem I see right now with that is… how do the council members talk to each other…? If everyone has a way to speak, then it would seem like there would be 10 people saying Nay, which would be different from the vote. I’m not sure how the Council could be convinced that they were in charge if they can all speak..Any thoughts?

Even if the gun isn’t loaded, Allgood could club one of them with it before (presumably) getting shot himself—-if he acts quickly enough.#I can see the notion of not having bullets in a gun in the “courtroom”—-after all, a desperate Holly / Maude / Linda might want to grab it themselves and use it.#But where are Holly, Maude, and Linda?

One curious thing is that the shape of Velda’s head seems to have changed. I am sitting within glancing distance of “Velda” and the head in the last few days strips seems taller. That could just be the difference between the strips and the auction pieces, which Aaron spends a lot more time drawing.

Google translate’s mobile address is http://translate.google.com/m/translate. I just typed JayBlanc ’s complete phrase into Google translate and took the resulting phrase to a search engine. I am not fluent in German or Dutch, but the translator chose the language for me. A native German speaker may quibble with the translation, but it is a couple of orders of magnitudes better than when it was AltaVista Babelfish.

Is Velda supposed to conjure up an image from Laff-In, of Arte Johnson as a WWII German soldier thinking … “Ver-ry In-ter-res-tink, … but stupid.” JusSayin PS: I still have some thoughts about Door Number Three but am looking for something special.Namaste Y’All
