There should be a pun hiding in here somewhere, but I’m too tired to go find it right now. Have at it, people! :)

One minute, Armando’s a husband. One minute later, he’s a widower.

♫♪ Grandma got run over by a minivan… ♫♪ (Surely some armadillos must make it to grandparenthood, no?)

Armando is terribly fatalistic. And fat. I foresee a squishy ending to his tale….

I’m still confused that they both drink coffee, I thought armadillos like orange juice in the morning.

    1) Alexikakos--I recommend that you read the book "Will My Pet Go to Heaven?" by Steve Wohlberg. It's available from whitehorsemedia.com. 2)440RoadRunner—It’s true that PB4S is a comic, one of the best we have today, but often Brudder Pastis puts in an idea that should make us stop and think.

Seeing she married Armadillo, it’s good that she got squished.

Why would Armando answer great? He was great last week, when he got married; presumably, he’s no longer great.

Yeah, even tarantulas cross the road, as do turtles. They have no choice .Do humans have to drive that fast on country lanes to kill them? Does “pavement” make you smarter than your buggy equipped grandparents?

My dad use to tell stories about being in texas and seeing the things get hit roll off the road and get up like nothing had happened.

Here in Texas, we have special signed road crossings for deer and tortoises but not for armadillos, they’re too near-sighted and can’t read ’em . . . ☻

I envision a world in which chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.

For those looking for a pun, there is none. He’s just making fun of how often armadillos’ lives are cut short by vehicles. Poor, sweet little armadillos…Maybe this is a public service announcement.

I don’t see a pun either (kinda refreshing), but I think the strip holds its own. Call me heartless, but I thought it was funny The ‘funny parts’ (for those who aren’t repelled by the subject- its fine if you are):1. Armando stating that its going great, then adding that she got squished2. Pig asking about the lucky lady (normal question), being turned around with the comment ‘so she wasn’t that lucky’3. the ‘Just Married’ sign edited to ‘Just Squished’
