The schools are over crowded – there seems to be a solution here. Another and just po0ssibly a better solution might be a little more money spent on education, councilors, preventive medical care and a sensible interpretation of the 2nd amendment. We need to resolve this curse we are living under and the students should not have to practice the shooter in the building drills.
While Kids Died at Saugus High, Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith Blocked Background Check Bill
Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss) stood on the Senate floor and blocked a bill to require universal background checks.
“Many questions about this legislation need to be answered before its forced upon law-abiding gun owners,” she said just after the gunman opened fire in California. “If I wanted to give my best friend’s son or grandson my hunting rifle, would we first have to appear before a licensed gun dealer and go through a lengthy and potentially expensive background check?”
The Washington Post reported that a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl died at the hospital after the Saugus High School shooting. The shooter is in the hospital in “grave condition.”
The NRA says they have 5 million members and the members elect the board. I suggest that 6 million of the sane Americans join the NRA and vote out the current board. Granted, this will take a few years since the board structure more closely resemble a politburo than an American democracy, but it can be done. Thus, by 2025 or so the NRA can be transformed into a gun control organization representing the views of most Americans.
We have the technology to have the NRA logo embedded on the rear flat portion of all projectiles. I’m sure that proud organization would consent to having that done by ammo manufacturers in the U.S.
As long as Trump, Moscow Mitch and the NRA are in lockstep NOTHING is going to change. We’ll hear the usual that Senate Bill XXX would not have stopped this shooter nonsense. So without a single magical answer lets just not do anything approach. How do these people live with themselves?
There are guns for hunting, there are guns for protection, and then again there are guns for murder… So doesn’t the choice of guns bought by people indicate what they really want or really intend intend to use them for? The Second Amendment states it plain and simple “a well regulated militia”… and it was put into place so that Americans could be called up to protect the country in case of an enemy invasion back when the most powerful weapons that could be obtained were dueling pistols or hunting rifles… and that is a point that the NRA keeps missing… People who choose high-powered high velocity weapons are choosing weapons for murder. If they leave those types of weapons lying around UNsecured then they are as guilty of the murders committed with those weapons as if they had pulled the triggers themselves… Another point that seems to get overlooked in all of the arguments about the Second Amendment. claiming it is a weapons-for-all argument is a false argument. Not every person is entitled to carry a gun. You do not allow people who are physically impaired to handle dangerous equipment like road graders and cargo haulers… You do not allow children to operate your automobile… Why would you want to allow someone who is mentally or emotionally incapacitated to handle high powered High Velocity weapons with absolutely no oversight or supervision? So what else would you expect a person who is mentally ill to do with weapons designed for murder?

Good ol’ NRA protecting the 2nd Amendment rights of criminals/domestic terrorists. Brings a tear to real ‘Muricans’ eyes.

excellent drawing today…
The headstamp on casings indicates caliber and the manufacture….
… in this case (pun intended :>) , the headstamp is indicating the NRA as the manufacture of our gun control problems…

They’re celebrating another school shooting. Though only 2 killed, not anything exceptional.

Amazingly, SCOTUS allowed a Law suit against gun manufacturers to continue the other day. Should be interesting.
