A gay man is one of the top-polling presidential candidates, for heaven’s sake. A boss might think this, but he’s not going to come right out and say it. Lawsuit, anyone?
With my staff I only care about the job they can do, not about their personal life. It’s none of my business who they are involved with so long as it doesn’t interfere with their job performance. I do admit though that when a new employee is hired I do wonder why they feel the need to tell me their sexual orientation. Being male are the women letting me know so I don’t flirt with them? For the men are they hoping I’ll flirt with them? I just don’t understand why they feel that I, as their boss, need to know their sexual orientation.

Either way, I think Joe is going to come around and beg forgiveness. By the way, what is John’s line of work?
