If you watch the idiots in Yellowstone and the Smokies, seeing a bear is a high point of the visit. So much so that the tourist becomes the entree for the bear that evening. The ranger should be happy that he is making himself seen. More tourists, more money!

I worked in one of the mall bookstores in the late 80s, early 90s and enjoyed it. We had a close workforce and some wonderful customers. One of them turned me on to one of my favorite mystery writers that I follow to current day. I have a bookcase that is 3/4 full of that author’s (and his successors’) books. I look back fondly on those days and the customers that made it worth it. The good customers stick in my mind more than the horrible ones.

I know several people that complain about their student loans they have to pay back, but they went out and bought a new car when they graduated that has 3x the payment amounts that their student loan(s) are each month. In many cases I think it comes down to priorities and understanding budgeting.

Of course it is worse to be in a jam than a pickle. A jam is smashed and pureed before preserving. A lot of pickles are preserved whole!

Rode in the back of a ’68 Ford station wagon across the country. What seat belts there were, were so uncomfortable they were just set aside. Today I would know how to adjust them. Darn, I miss that wagon these days.
