Before banning him, I think that the right thing to do, would have been for GC admin to ask him just what he meant by his comment & its content. While I assume he is NOT Jewish, what IF he was, & let us say, he had lost both parents to a Nazi death camp (not true). There is a huge difference in the way anyone can interpret a short comment or a reply to one. I do understand the responsibility of CG admin to monitor this GUEST comment site, but should be careful also, not to jump to conclusions, at what might on the surface, appear to be something totally different than the intent of the writer. A writer can I suppose be blamed for using a poor choice of words, when responding quickly to a comment that has pushed his/her “hot button”. We have to be careful with words we use—the pen can be mightier than the sword?

There is a little more insight into the Gweedo situation, with comments & replies at the Dick Tracy site.

I am pretty sure what he meant, & maybe not worded in the best way in his reply comment, should have been something like this: How would you like to have be a slave, or a victim in a Holocaust death camp? Even that could possibly be misinterpreted by some.

Sorry. I just am not aware of all of the details. I just have heard that at times, GC can come down hard oh what they consider offensive comments.

I have no idea. Sounds horrible to me, but a friend tried one & said it was good.

Jon was doing OK until what he said in the middle panel.

I believe he made an ill advised reply to what he may have considered a troll. Something to the effect that they should have been a Jew in Hitler Germany. CG admin took this evidently as a very offensive insult to the fine Jewish people. I saw it at the day it was there, & like he claimed, I myself took it to mean just the opposite in intended meaning. I guess it is all in the readers mind & in their individual interpretation. I know from another comment, that he has Jewish friends & acquaintances that he highly respects, & I don’t believe he meant anything as an insult or disrespect. GC has rigid standards to keep & we should all respect their point of view. Do not let trolls or other comments you strongly disagree with get the best of your temper. Choose your comment words carefully before hitting submit. We are all guests here on this comment section & have to carefully abide by GC rules.
