A weak punch line from Quill – after Luann pouring on her considerable charm. Hope there’s another twist – before we go to a new story arc.

I’ve been reading Luann since I was 4, and out of all the guys I have hoped the most for Quill to be the one to make Luann happy. If this arc doesn’t have a twist that keeps him in the picture. Well, Mr. Evans, I am disappointed with you sir.

And the NEXT time some good lookin’ stud from a foreign country takes an interest in you, I’ll BET You won’t come up with this: “I DON’T think we should get romantic because You might go back to YOUR Country” NONSENSE again, either!

Further, the comment she can be explosive is also a reminder that she has strength and is not afraid of the future. And we can see she’s already smiling as she tries to find solutions to a less than pleasant situation.-Yeah, I know I’m reading more into it than most children are likely to put in, but as others have pointed out, the author of the story line is not a child.

Cute, Luann, but I don’t think you’d fit in Quill’s suitcase. And even if you were actually stowed in the baggage hold, the airline would probably insist you purchase a ticket anyway.—And now, with that joke well and truly done, what do you two really intend? Will there be any future for Quill and Luann?

Greg must sabotage every single relationship he creates because he has no idea what the hell to do once the relationship starts. Maddening! Greg, if you can’t handle writing romantic relationships then DON’T START THEM! It’s not that difficult of a concept and only drives your readers up a frickin’ WALL.

I’ve had to move like that. My dad lost his job on a thursday and my first boyfriend was out of town with his family. We moved on saturday. never saw the boyfriend again. still can’t find him. Sometimes things can go quickly if there is a job waiting on the other side for his dad. My dad moved us across the country and only missed four days of work. Those were spent packing and driving. We arrived at our destination at around six that evening and he was going to work at six that next morning.

I wanted to post this yesterday, but it was 9:00 pm by the time I read the comics. People are talking about repetition but has it occurred to anyone that Greg would consider the audience for Luann to be teenagers and thus be writing to a whole new generation? That would explain repeat story lines, a 16 year old reading this right now may have no clue about what happened in the past (Unless they read the past comics on this or another site of course).

Speaking of the past… I’m reading the past strips right now. I recall some from when I was a teen, but most I’ve forgotten. Aaron was a real jerk! He never really cared for Luann- he got distracted by Tiff even when he had a “real” girlfriend (Claudia) He was just a crush that she needs/needed to get over. Anyway I hope Greg realizes that his audience is much larger then the current crop of teens and does something else with this story. With our current tech. they can easily keep in touch. — Just don’t repeat the other times (Aaron-Luann, Zane-Bernice) where the guy never contacts the girl.

Geez – this is making me crazy. I have to comment. If two people really had a passion for each other, it would be overwhelming, and not be room temperature for so long. You just know when you are attracted to someone. She really wants someone to love her, someone who has some coolness factor, just like most everyone else does. He’s just not that into her. Its either there or its not. He should have been all over her long time ago. She needs to concentrate on school now and not waste her time on someone who doesn’t think she rocks his world.

If there’s a happy solution to save their romance, it won’t be Luann going to Oz. That would require a whole new set of characters. But aren’t they about to graduate hs? how about Quill attending college in the US? For instance, the same one as Luann.

I like Quill and I really like the way he treats Luann. But we all knew their relationship was temporary……sort of like a “summer romance” during the school year. Remember summer romances? You meet someone while you or they are on vacation, fall for the “difference” more than the person, then leave them behind….sad, but all part of growing up.

“But in that case Luann would not be involved and we would not be talking about sneaking her on board a plane.”.Another good point, you must be sober at the moment. .While you’re still with us, it reminded me of watching movies with my chilluns. They would watch some idiotic thing and ask, “Why didn’t they just….?”.They got used to me responding, “Because then this movie would be ten minutes long.”

In the first place, what are you smoking??? Change dealers..Secondly. you only get “transferred” if you request a transfer – no municipality can make you move out of the area, or out of state, if you don’t want to..Thirdly – why? Since they’re not the central character it’s much easier to keep Brad and Toni’s relationship in a holding pattern than it is to constantly keep Luann behind the 8-ball of romance while still holding out the hope that she might get some. .All B & T have to do is try to get time alone and be constantly interrupted by Shannon, while Toni continues to be gunshy about commitment while still wanting “benefits” from Brad. A little conflict with Nancy, or from brother Jonah, and there’s a new arc.

A few months ago, it seemed that Evans was ready to move forward by presenting some new developments for his characters, specifically involving the status of Brad & Toni’s relationship, as well as the romance between Quill & Luann. Instead, he has just been toying with his readers by going around in circles. We can only hope he gets out of this rut and begins creating some more substantial storylines…

A real world conclusion: Quail has given up on Luann because he has to go back to Australia. Tiffany sees Quill looking sad – walking home – whisks him off somewhere – and Tiffany becomes his “first.” All in a couple of hours. Then Quill flies away with even more regret that he didn’t get there with Luann.
