    I wouldn’t want to be the one to tell her she’s too big for carry-on.

    For a second I thought she was going to say she wanted him to toss her on the bed.

    @Namrepus

    On the other hand, she is a solid, not a gel, so theoretically she could get through Security.

    Way to transition from hysterical to teasing/flirty/perfectly calm and silly after one line of dialogue.

    Yep. A cheesy conclusion to an otherwise fun story arc.

    Why does Greg lead us on like this? He starts something interesting with Luann then changes it.

    A weak punch line from Quill – after Luann pouring on her considerable charm. Hope there’s another twist – before we go to a new story arc.

    I’ve been reading Luann since I was 4, and out of all the guys I have hoped the most for Quill to be the one to make Luann happy. If this arc doesn’t have a twist that keeps him in the picture. Well, Mr. Evans, I am disappointed with you sir.

    Exchange Student, Luann. Exchange Student, ONE of You.

    And the NEXT time some good lookin’ stud from a foreign country takes an interest in you, I’ll BET You won’t come up with this: “I DON’T think we should get romantic because You might go back to YOUR Country” NONSENSE again, either!

    Actually, she’s more of a gel than a solid — bones and teeth notwithstanding.

    Further, the comment she can be explosive is also a reminder that she has strength and is not afraid of the future.
    And we can see she’s already smiling as she tries to find solutions to a less than pleasant situation.

    Yeah, I know I’m reading more into it than most children are likely to put in, but as others have pointed out, the author of the story line is not a child.

    How d’you figure that? If this were Tiffany we were talking about, I’d say “gaseous” rather than solid due to the airhead factor, but if anyone in this comic is gelatinous, it’s Gunther, not Luann.
