Do they make coconut chocolates so we will appreciate the other candies more than we would have otherwise?

And an additional insight into the element of “chance”. At a local arcade here, there is a set up basketball game where one throws the ball into the hoop and gets a score every time the ball enters the hoop. Recently I hit, in chronological order, the numbers of 689, 699, 709, and 719 (with a few additional scores between the 709 and 719). What are the chances that you would get such a set of scores with the possibility of over at least 100 possible scores? What would the chance be that if I continued, I would hit a high of 729, and then 739?

I hate coconut so, SO much. I love that Pastis recognizes the atrocity of those tree droppings. Bill Watterson correctly understood the evils of it as well.

As the late. great Douglas Adam’s would no doubt have known, the taste of each chocolate can be guaranteed to be almost but not quite entirely unlike that described in the contents list….

as for the taste of coconut, the solution is to mask it with citrus fruit….perhaps lime…. If only there was some kind of tasteful song about it.

What’s wrong with Coconut? Heck, it’s even good as a topping on a Ham and Pineapple Pizza, lightly toasted a golden brown…

My family knows that if they don’t want to share something with me, just put coconut in it. I won’t touch it, even if it includes chocolate and strawberries. The only thing better than a strawberry is a chocolate covered strawberry. There is nothing good about coconut.

I think coconut is just one of those things you either love or hate. I personally can’t abide it in any form. I hated it as a kid and don’t like it much better now. Putting coconut in chocolate is to me the equivalent of putting ketchup on a hot dog for other people. The only difference is that it doesn’t bother me if other people like it.

As with pineapple on pizza, coconut (especially toasted coconut) affords such divine delectation that not to like it might seem a perversity entailing its own condign punishment. In fact, if course, it is most often an unwilled wretchedness that deserves the full sympathy of those whose taste buds are functioning as God intended.

I have been in both camps. I loved coconut until I had a job unloading by hand 125# bales of shredded coconut from 7railroad boxcars meant for Major cookie manufacturer. At first it smelled good, the sweet then sickenly so. After the job was done I could no longer stomach even the smell of the stuff. It has been close to 40 years now and I am just beginning to like it again.
