Andy’s antipathy to water cropped up once in Mad Magazine when Don Martin did a series of “odd sound effects in the comics.” For example, Iron Man sneezing in his mask, Thor pounding the table with his magic hammer to get his waiter’s attention in a restaurant. For Andy, it showed him gagging (I can’t recall the exact sound effect, but I think it was “ga-hork!”) and the caption read “Andy Capp drinking water by accident.”

I am referring to your birthday in the past tense as its 4 pm here and the UK is 8 hours ahead of us, so you are probably getting ready for bed already.
