Democracy dies when opposing views aren’t respected. A republic cannot survive when its people refuse to cooperate and compromise, insanely believing that a part is greater than the whole.
Sanity stopped working as a policy when we stopped agreeing on what sane was. The right has introduced alt-sanity, and the rest of us just think they are crazy.
U.S. diplomat George Kennan sent the famous “Long Telegram” from Moscow in 1946. Though describing the Soviet government at that time, it is still very relevant to Putin’s disinformation campaign today, both in Russia and abroad. And to Trump. And Fox fans.
“Many of them are too ignorant of outside world and mentally too dependent to question [apparent omission] self-hypnotism, and who have no difficulty making themselves believe what they find it comforting and convenient to believe. Finally we have the unsolved mystery as to who, if anyone, in this great land actually receives accurate and unbiased information about outside world. In atmosphere of oriental secretiveness and conspiracy which pervades this Government, possibilities for distorting or poisoning sources and currents of information are infinite. The very disrespect of Russians for objective truth—indeed, their disbelief in its existence—leads them to view all stated facts as instruments for furtherance of one ulterior purpose or another…”
From an op-ed in today’s Kansas City Star: President Donald Trump has long made it clear that he is no fan of Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos. But Trump’s disdain for the world’s richest man has now morphed into what insiders call an “obsession,” with the president once again hammering away at Bezos and Amazon on his Twitter account in recent weeks.The reasons are evident as to why Trump — the self-proclaimed king of the deal — has it out for Bezos. Make no mistake: Amazon’s taxes have nothing to do with it. Why would Trump single out a publicly-traded company for going to great lengths to minimize its tax exposure? After all, Amazon saved $789 million thanks to a Trump administration-backed cut in the corporate tax rate.For Trump, this feud is not about business at all. It’s personal.Bezos continues to accumulate unprecedented power and wealth by the day, and Trump’s ego is the accelerant that will burn it all to the ground. The president’s tweets have already cost Bezos billions, but this is hardly enough for Trump. Even after these enormous losses, Bezos still stands atop the financial mountain, peering down at the president with high-powered binoculars.
Remember this phrase; it will come in handy as an explanation for NUMEROUS events: “…Trump’s ego is the accelerant that will burn it all to the ground.”
As soon as Obama was elected Republicans became loyal only to themselves, thus splitting America and driving it crazy. Then they elected the current resident who is totally driving the country nuts.
Crooked liar Trump’s attacks on the FBI appears to have backfired as they have raided his lawyer’s office and seized records. Do they have Mr Trump’s attention yet?
Actually, millions of the children of the far right fall away every year from a combination of public school education, books and other printed materials, the media, and the Internet. That’s why the far right hates all four so much.

KEEP SANITY OUT – {limerick}
He’ll squelch any imports of sanity, -
- and manufacture inanity
to run his regime
on his Trumpian theme
as dumb as even Sean Hannity.
