On the other hand, we carbon-based commenters can make comments about the current strip, maybe something along the lines of support for higher education being an investment for our future. That way the bots’s comments get pushed below the fold.

This is really a nice thing to do. Sam and Boopsie are good people.

Shorter Igor: there used to be some really bad people in the Democratic Party, and I’m hoping you don’t know most of them became Republicans (and were welcomed with open arms) after LBJ’s administration championed civil rights in the 1960s.

Not even a nice try—which party today is suppressing or attempting to suppress the black vote everywhere?—but at least you’re getting the attention here you didn’t get from your momma when you needed it.

So college students are having trouble staying college because their scholarships don’t cover the cost of the extra stuff like room and board. Sounds like college is pretty much the same as it was when I wanted to go, adjusted for inflation of course. Sad, that.

and your point is? The Republican party of Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt is long since buried by the Tafts and Hoovers and Reagans, so that the lying orange loser’s party, or the senate turtle’s party would NEVER allow Lincoln or TR, or even Ike to be a public member.

Looks like we’re about to see some new characters introduced. Great to see Trudeau keeps the Sunday only content relevant and healthy.

I remember a guy who lived in his 510 station wagon in the school parking lot for several weeks while waiting for his housing allowance that was supposed to come from the army to go through. This was back in the late 80’s.

Teachers have to have second jobs to make ends meet,

while billionaires get tax breaks you are paying for.

All of our priorities are backward.

While there was a Dixiecrat element in the Democratic Party years ago, even at that time, 60 years ago, there were also many more who advocated for civil rights, such as LBJ, JFK, RFK, Hubert Humphrey, Walter Mondale, Eugene McCarthy and many others.

This is not 100+ years ago. If you take the time to read the Democrat and Republican party platforms, you will see that they have reversed over that time. What was then a Republican position is now the Democrat position and vice versa.

Wellll…if Boopsie & Sam can manage to keep their heads above BD’s kneejerk reactions, it could work out, become a win-win…yknow, barter services or housecraft projects? Hmmm…

So where is there a house with a lake/mountain view in the vicinity of Walden? Looks a lot like Mike’s views in Seattle. Boopsie must have made some good money in the movies.
