You can get by on charm for about 15 minutes. After that, you’d better know something.

When I was a kid I hated school and flunked out of college. Now I’m going to night school and really studying and doing homework and getting A’s. I am learning programming to get a better job so I take it more seriously.

It’s so odd to see Kim way back when and then remember that currently Kim is Mike’s wife and Alex’s step-mom.

Let’s see, what makes “them” better. Different cultural values like respecting their parents and parents making them learn and being involved in their lives. Parents instilling values in them. Gee, sounds real genetic to me. (Actually it is a sort of pseudo genetic in that it tends to be passed along from generation to generation but don’t worry, in a few more generations they will be just like the rest of America, lazy and stupid.

I remember a 1980s study that looked at why Japanese school kids were so much better at math than American school kids. It concluded that it was because Japanese kids were doing a considerably higher number of homework problems each night (like 5 or 6 times as many problems). Basically, it was proof of the old maxim, “Practice makes perfect.”

Something like this is a far better way to short out racism than throwing a tantrum.

Tantrums only work for 3 year olds and dictators.

People tend to see what they are open to seeing. At my daughter’s art school, the largest group of foreign students is from China. Lots of folks are surprised when they find out this info.

When many look at the Trump family, they think that when the anglo saxons send us their people, they are not sending their best. It is just a surprising thing from this group.

If I recall, the first step of the Award contest was based on your PSAT scores and they counted language twice what they counted math.

It would appear that a commenter made a judgment regarding the girl talking to Kim. How are we to know if she is a liberal or a conservative? Both liberals and conservatives attend school.
