That’s not plagiarism. That’s known as an homage. It would be plagiarism if it were intended to be taken as original. It’s obviously not.

I think there is one other painting that may give The Scream a run for its money in the number of times it has been parodied: American Gothic. Although they are a little ways further down the line, others that have had tributes in many quarters are The Creation of Adam, Whistler’s Mother (AKA Study in Gray and White), and Mona Lisa.

I’ve done that scream at school before—-after I realized I’d left my lunch behind.
