I’d want to say “Impossible!” except for the fact that I know THREE people who were injured … not killed… by vending machines…. actually, now that I think about it…. each only had one arm hurt.
and I don’t recall anyone being bitten by a sha…. oops… yeah, I do…. one… nibbled, not killed.
Person 1…. waaaay back in high school…. took a mighty swat at a milk machine…. it fell, knocked him over, and broke his arm.
BTW in Wisconsin, we had subsidised milk, at lunch and in hallway machines…. little half pint cartons for… are you ready? TWO CENTS.

Person 2 reached up into a candy machine and got his arm stuck…. the janitor got him out but his arm was cut.

He was trying to repair an unplugged vending machine and touched something… a capacitor? … and got blown back by an electric shock… and discovered a burn on his arm or hand… can’t remember.
It would be even worse to be, as Cleo is picturing, swimming near one…. if it were plugged in.
So yeah.. in the water, vending machines are probably 100 times as dangerous as sharks. Cos sharks can’t zap 100 people at once!
As for the cat and mouse games… if they keep it in the house, it’s nobody’s business but their own.
If they knock over my garbage can, bite me, or dig up my garden, I’m calling the Sheriff!

And Clara! Look how nice and dressed up she is! Maybe Claude is taking her out to dinner and a movie. I hear there’s a good one about sharks down at the multi-plex.
