I foresee Dallas going on a penguin hunt, just like the rabbit hunts old Elmer Fudd had….

Did he misspell “Yastrzemski” or is he just making up a name that sounds like his? Where are the Bosox fans?

Boston fans are hiding as usual after the All Star Game. It’s not our fault this happens every summer. Boston is a northern city and this heat sprains and breaks our arms and legs. We lost Ortiz last night during the National Anthem when he tripped on his shoelace, broke his leg and stumbled into Wakefield, spraining his arm. Unfortunately, Ortiz will sit out the season and Wakefield won’t. Expect another hit a pitch from our dugout.

    WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR

    Cubies, we’re gaining on you!

Yankees won, Sox lost last night. Only 7 games behind!

Ahem, @LEWREADER, pardon me for noticing but there seems to be another team between the Bronx and the Socks. Could it be possible that once again the TB Rays will challenge the old establishment this year? YES!

Not to quibble excessively, guys, but I think the reference is to Yosemite Sam, not Elmer Fudd. Bugs and Sam cartoons are the second best ever. Number one, of course, is the Roadrunner and the Coyote.

My team is the Houston Astros. Pity donations gratefully accepted.

sandfan, please oh please, send us Roy Oswalt (to the Phillies) and tell Ed Wade thanks for getting us more good pitching than he ever did when he was the GM here.

And how do you think this foolishly optimistic Twins Fan is feeling these days?

Oh! the precipitous drop! Oh! the agony! Oh! the undeserved disappointment! Oh! the false hope we’d have even if we were at the top of the CENTRAL division!

With the way that the Mariners have been playing at least Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny would add drama and excitement to the game.

That does sound more like Yosemite Sam than Elmer Fudd.

And I do believe that it’s Penguin season.

Not to mention comic relief …. They just don’t make cartoons like that and I don’t know if it was Mel Blanc’s or Chuck Jones’ talents or the writing, or the talent of all the (mostly anonymous) illustrators that made them pop (probably a combo of all those!), but the only thing that came close was the ‘take off’ with Yakko and the Warners …

Hey Lew, at least Big Papi didn’t take a pickoff throw to the crotch like Carl Crawford the other night.

And that’s why you wear a cup, boys and girls…

Pitcher – Bugs Bunny Catcher – Bugs Bunny First Base – Bugs Bunny Second Base – Bugs Bunny Third Base – Bugs Bunny Right Field – Bugs Bunny Left Field – Bugs Bunny Shortstop – Bugs Bunny Center Field – Bugs Bunny

    (Name that cartoon!)

A sure sign the world is ending soon is if the Cubs make it into the series. And I am a Cubs fan living up here in Canada. When the Expos left, I needed a NL team to support and da Cubs was always my second choice.

SES1066 What Bible do you read that has more teams than Bronx and Sox? Oh yeah, there’s the Bruins and the Celtic, but we’re talkin baseball, baseball and the Sox. Oh. half the Sox were injured today and put on the DL when a gas explosion erupted in the dugout.. Although Yankee Stadium hot dogs were blamed at first, Suspicion is focused on Fenway Franks which must be eaten before October.
