In Horace’s defense, it was probably something he didn’t realize would make her mad in the first place—we all know how oblivious Horace can be at times. ;)
The “you know what you did” was maddening when your mother did it and serves no useful purpose in a relationship. Women (people) often feel angry about things that have nothing to do with their partner but will not not recognize that. They will use this ploy to “wrong-foot” their partner and hope for generalized placating.
