Wikipedia says “A few examples display an unusual characteristic, a split or bifid nose, a trait shared with the Turkish Tarsus çatalburun.”

I learn something new nearly every day here on Go Comics. They are sort of a funny looking critter with that double barreled nose.

April Fool Day is too cute to not make it last longer! Now, tomorrow should also be an April Fools. “Look, it’s gettin’ dark! Nope, fooled ya!”

I’m not sure why but for some reason, the tiger here reminds me a bit of the Uniroyal tiger paw commercial.

I have a normal hound, a beagle, and I can say one nose is all they need. My dog can sniff out food anywhere, generally where it will embarrass me the most. She is a therapy dog, and I have learned not to put her on a patient’s bed if they have food on their tray unless I have both of my hands on her, pretending to hold her on the edge of the bed. She will gently poke her nose on the pocket of the jacket of the person we do dog therapy with – she’s just pointing out where the treats are. Repeatedly, sometimes. She also taught herself to smell covid and to alert to migraines.

I looked up the double nosed tiger hound, and found mostly pictures of split-nosed dogs. Most were not hounds. I checked my dog’s nose – she was sleeping, so she’s a little miffed but not enough to move out of range – and she has a bit of an indent in her nose where it is fur that goes up her nose to her head, if that makes sense. It seems to me that most dogs have a straight line there. She might have a slight double nose, but only two nostrils. Interesting. I learn something new every day! I knew my dog has an incredible nose, but I didn’t know it might be a bit unusual. I know she was bred multiple times before I adopted her to get her puppies.
