Oh hush up! Life begins at 40, didn’t you know that? 50 is cool because you’re half a century old. 60… well… I’m still looking for something positive about that and I’ve had 5 years to do it. I guess there’s retirement!

Oh, to be 60 again!!

Anyone 70 or older has survived the 60’s twice. (Age and decade)

Whenever I enter a new decade I find myself looking back at the previous one and thinking, “Man, I had it good back then.”

All the milestones suck until you get there yourself. Then you reflect and think “this ain’t so bad at least I woke up on the green side of the lawn”. Age is just a number as the saying goes so we just need to stay positive and make the best of it since we can’t do anything about it anyway.

I’ve enjoyed all of my (X * 10), except being ten itself. I’m interested in what being 80 will bring in just over three years.

Hey, life can begin at any age……..

Recently turned 69. Still skiing, riding mountain bike, hiking and hunting and fishing. But have definitely slowed down. If I knew I was going to live this long I would’ve taken better care of myself.

Relax, 70 is the new 93.

40 was one of the only birthdays I was really aware of – probably because of people saying things like this.

Ben, just tell him you are living proof that you can survive the 60s.

Those milestones come by like a picket fence to a biker. I am thinking about my 60’s and how it’ll be. Problem is, the calendar says I’m in my 80’s.

60 is absolutely no problem at all, provided you’ve taken good care of yourself, kept yourself in shape and not developed any bad health habits along the way.

He should be so lucky to reach that age

Stop whining and start living.

God forbid!!! Is he actually telling God he doesn’t want to see 60. Every bit of life is given by God. why would he even want it cut short?

I am 84, left a few body parts behind but doing ok. 90 here I come.

76 and counting. Retired as a city trolley bus driver fourteen years ago. Still keep my Class 2 licence and volunteer to drive buses with a transit museum society. Cycling, hiking and morning exercise at home help me stay fit. Calendar is full. Increasing number of deaths of long time friends is the hardest part of ageing.

I am amazed at being 70. Husband acts like a bit of an old man, but I don’t think I act old – unless I do it on purpose. I can still lift and carry heavier items than he can. I wear progressive lens or my prescription reading glasses now – but for closeup reading I can see better without them. (Have worn eyeglasses since second grade so glasses are nothing new to me.)

I still think in terms like “When we have children…” though that is not to be.

My biggest difference is not caring about things which used to bother me or caring as much about what people think. When I was younger the thought of walking out of the house without a bra on (even as others were burning theirs) would embarrass me. Since the start of Covid (back in my 60s) I only wear a bra in the summer and only when we are going out. If it can not be easily seen that I am not wearing one – I don’t wear one. Of course when we do reenactments I always wear my “stays” as my period alternate self would not go out without them.
