Is this one of those “ find what’s wrong” puzzles? Ok!! Let’s see…

    trump isn’t wearing a Chinese-made suit!

trump looks like he’s actually smiling, instead of that squinting grimacing thing he does to try to look like he’s smiling!

trump is driving something other than a golf cart!

trump os doing a form of manual labor!

trumps skin looks less orange than the truck!

The recent events in Iowa do not reflect well on the mental acuity of Iowa republicans- those confused citizens did manage to choose the worst of the pathetic selection.

According to exit polls of these Iowa republican primary voters:

2/3 think the 2020 election was stolen and Biden is not a “legitimate” president.

Nearly 2/3 think that trump should still be President if convicted of a serious crime.

58% say they support a full nationwide ban on abortion.

    This is today’s republican party.

Good grief! Can you even imagine Trump actually driving a snowplow, clearing the roads in Iowa?

And yet it’s the men and women who really do drive snowplows, who perform a vital service, who are voting for him.

And what will be Trump’s job in Iowa, in America, if they get their way?

He’ll be expected to make sure those people have the training, the equipment, the support to do their job.

But does Trump understand things like that? No. Those things aren’t important to him. But they’ll vote for him anyway.

Here is the average Iowa Republican voter:

51% are over 50 years of age

91% Claim Christian, and of that, 37% describe themselves as Evangelical. 81% think they will go to heaven, and 42% believe humans popped into existence when God waved his hand.

    98% are white

75% do not have a college degree

95% are 3rd generation or higher American

85% Believe helping people experiencing poverty does more harm than good

Well over 50% oppose same-sex marriage and any LBGTQ rights. 69% oppose all abortion, even to save the mother. They believe regulations to protect the environment are wrong.

The average Iowa Republican voter gets their news from farther right sources than Fox News.

All of this means that the Iowans who voted last night for Trump are outliers when it comes to the average General Election voter in the United States. One other funny statistic…While most have a firm belief in right and wrong, crime and punishment, they refuse to apply those standards to Trump.

Here’s a typical news outlet reader response: “As an independent I think the charges being brought against trump in New York are frivolous and politically motivated as both the DA’s that brought those charges campaigned on how they would get Trump.”

The Iowa caucuses also validated the polls, which predicted 52% for Trump. He got 51%. When the same polls show 33% approval for Biden and even less for Kama Lama Ding Dong, they’re not just whistling Dixie.

The wrath of trump is strong. Hard to imagine that the American evangelists have stood by this huckster.. but they have. Shows just how easily they are sucked into.. rhetoric. Totally abandoning rational thought, the classic definition of zombies.

GOP’s ‘radical electorate’ has ‘once again chosen weakest candidate’: Morning Joe

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough blamed “radical” Iowa Republicans for setting themselves up to lose again in November’s general election.

Let’s get some perspective here, Gary. Many Iowans stayed home from the Caucus because of the cruddy weather. Those that did venture out were the hard core voters who were more inclined to vote for Trump anyway. The GOP hasn’t exactly had a good track record for candidates at the Iowa Caucus anyway. Just ask Mike Huckabee (IA Caucus winner 2008) or Ted Cruz (IA Caucus winner 2016). DeSantis and/or Haley could still pull off a win in NH and/or SC (Haley’s home state). Also, there is still time for Trump to be convicted of at least some of the multiple charges against him. Things could still take a turn between now and Super Tuesday and/or the GOP Convention. I’m not a Pollyanna, but I’m not a Chicken Little either.

Is a Trump win in the 2024 General Election inevitable? Not at all!

Iowa has 3.193 million residents. Of that group, 2,456,703 are 18 years or older, i.e., voting age.*

108,000 turned out to vote last night in the Iowa Caucuses, the lowest turnout in years. Of that, Trump got 52,260 votes.**

In other words, Trump got 0.0164% of the Iowa population to vote for him, or 0.0213% of the voting-age population.

Trump is not invincible, far from it. When the general election happens, the country as a whole can vote against the authoritarianism and corruption that Trump represents.

49% of a record low turnout that represented less than 15% of Republican voters in Iowa. Seems only the most dedicated of the cult followers turned out and most stayed home.
