There is a method in Trump’s incoherent ramblings, although I doubt that he is smart enough or sane enough to have thought it through to that point. He is talking to people who have been taught since Rush Limbaugh to be mad at the system. Never mind that they can afford more than pretty much anyone in the world. Never mind that they have freedoms rare in the world. They are mad, scared of anyone who doesn’t have the same religion, race and sexual preferences that they have, because they have never had a real conversation with anyone who doesn’t and they have been taught that they are scary.Trump comes across as angry with the system. He has shown distain for polite society pretty much since birth. So, the anger comes through in his speeches, and that is the only thing that does. He rarely says anything that makes sense, and never explains anything. Since all the MAGAts hear is the anger, they project their own concerns onto Trump and believe that he champions their causes. He doesn’t. He would be as concerned by any real problems they have as he was about the woman dying on the floor of Mar A Lago. His only concern was that she was inconveniencing him and could have died somewhere out of his sight.
