This time I am with Hattie, because I don’t know how scientists can say that. But I’m incompetent.

I’m waiting for proof of an invisible omnipresent all knowing sky daddy I’m supposed to believe in. Haven’t seen any yet in my 73 years.

To do that Brutus would have to be a real flakologist.

Yeah sure! Next Brutus is going to say that everybody’s finger prints are unique even when there are some 8 billion people with fingers.

That’s what she chooses to need proof to believe? Really? I didn’t have actual proof that 1 + 1 = 2 until sophomore year of college, but I bet she believes that.

Just hold out your hands, Hattie, and look at the snowflakes as they land on them. You’ll soon see that Brutus is right.

Hurricane Hattie. Future politician. Likely Senator or even higher. And she will remember Mr Brutus as her kind old Father in Law that encouraged her so much to take that leap – go for it. Unlike Brutus who was content with contentment and happy in his golden oldie days like Uncle Ted. Some see glass half empty, others half full, while others just happy to have a glass like Brutus.

zzeek, when I was 2 years older than what you are now (and that was almost 6 years ago), I experienced the worst trauma in my life. Within about 2 months God communicated to me three times through a series of illogical occurrences: the first two simply provided answers to my questions, and the last (a series of several things, each extremely unlikely on its own, happening within about 30 minutes) telling me that God knows about me and knows me, and that I am being looked after … and, indeed, that was the case. If I now look back at that time, there is no way that I can (i) doubt the existence of God and (ii) doubt that He knows me and looks after me. If you read the parable about the prodigal son in Luke 15 you will see that God gives each of us the opportunity to make a choice … either for God or not. I pray that you will be guided to make the right choice.

Of the two of them, it’s only Brutus that can provide any evidence. Neither of them can provide proof…

They say that no two snowflakes are the same, but how do they know? Have they checked every snowflake around the world ? And I know they could not have checked every snowflake since the beginning of time

Can’t really. either way. However, I am also of the befief that with the unimaginable numbers of snowflakes that fall around the world annually and have fallen over the lifespan of the earth that no two were ever exactly the same. The two bigger questions though are 1. Who really cares and 2. where does Hattie get off calling Brutus by his first name and not Mr. Thornapple? It is a very big sign of disrespect that shold have been and still should be corrected in my opinion. Just an observation……

Hattie is what my mother used to call a “pill” but probably not her fault. Her parents have obviously never taught her respect for elders.

“As with so many scientific theories, proof is impossible but speculation from random sampling is all we can get, so we go with it and make it “true”," replies Brutus to Hurricane Hattie. “Wow” mutters Hattie, “I didn’t think Brutus was all that sharp”…

Snow globes are nice to look at, but I have no desire to live in an environment that mirrors one. Thankfully, I don’t.
