If you get a better job you can afford to restore the car.

Jerks happen. Acknowledging that fact doesn’t mean you are condoning it. Unless you have a magic wand and can change everyone in the world to being nice all you can do is be forewarned that you may encounter an idiot. Heck, Marcus Aurelius gave advice on how to deal with them 2,000 years ago and was probably just quoting his teachers.

When I say “people are like that,” I generally mean that we’d be better off as a society if we got more uzed to calling people out when they were being like that. It never occurred to me that that could be misinterpreted. But, now I’m wondering if I need to speak more clearly.

Mostly all you can do is not be like that. If you fight them you might become them.

Personally, I prefer the Road to Perdition. Over my lifetime, I’ve met some very strange and unusual people, and had some interesting adventures on that road!

You’re not getting it, Baldo. You can’t generalize people like you just did.

Baldo, you can’t take for granted that you will ever finish your Chevy. A friend was slowly re-doing a 1955 Chevy, and got cancer before he finished it. His wife paid some pro’s to finish it shortly before he died, so he did get to see it completed, but it wasn’t as satisfying as it was supposed to be. Soon thereafter the wife was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). She only lived about 18 more months, and then passed. So – Don’t take anything for granted. If you want something, make it happen. You won’t change it just by staring at it.

Baldo, start apologizing right now. You are one step away from trouble. A little groveling never hurts. Oh and BTW, get used to having to do this.

Maybe having a girlfriend will finally motivate Baldo to get the Chevy street worthy.
