Ripped and torn wrapping paper looks par for the course. My paternal grandmother always tried to get my sibling and I to carefully remove the wrapping paper so it could be used again. She was the wife of a deaf carpenter and raised three boys through the thirties. She learned to be very frugal and conserve what she could. We did our best to make her happy, as hard as it was. Still have the 8mm home movies from the 50’ and 60’s showing her moving around the room gathering up the paper and neatly folding it.
366 days, because 2024 will be a leap year. Also, note that Zoe’s hair is done up in the back, even though she is still in her nightgown and bare feet. Usually in the early morning it is drawn as hanging down freely.

I think this is exactly why my folks parsed out our gifts over Christmas day and a few days after – that way the holiday letdown wouldn’t hit so hard.

Wren is so wonderfully heartwarming with her stuffed Pig.
I have to jump to PBS to see if there is a crossover there.
