CBC News COP28 reaches groundbreaking climate deal in Dubai calling for ‘transitioning away from fossil fuels’ link blocked, google title

After negotiators worked through the night, a new deal has been reached at COP28 which could signal the world’s desire to move away from fossil fuels over the next few decades in an effort to address climate change.

Representatives from nearly 200 countries gathered in a public meeting in Dubai to support the new deal, one day after the climate summit was scheduled to close. Moments after opening Wednesday’s session, COP28 President Sultan al-Jaber gave approval of the central document with the drop of the gavel.

Like when the rich warned those opposed to Reaganomics about “class warfare”.

The collective carbon footprint of those attending COP28 likely raised the global temperature at least a degree on it’s own. Everyone likes to blame cars… but, air travel does considerable damage to the upper atmosphere. Possibly more than cars by placing the exhaust right where it does the most damage. But, cars are for the little defenseless peons, the big shots making the calls get the luxury of jets.. and fine food.

Every once in a great while I take a look at each of the LibProg cartoons to see if the writer is beginning to show a shred of common sense.

I could’ve saved my time here.

The shift from horses and oxen to gas and diesel happened over almost 100 years. It wasn’t a quick change. This switch from fossil fuel won’t be fast either. But it will happen! And it won’t take more than a generation or two.

The people who created the polarization are now bemoaning polarization and blaming the people they demonize.

“Let’s not play the blame game,” says almost everybody who legitimately deserves blame for something.

COP being run by oil-producing neighbors may be the crassest event of my life, I watched trumpster fire walk in a park with a bible in his hands, upside down.

Panel Four is a harbinger of the subject of the movie ELYSIUM, with Jodie Foster. The future of a polluted Earth, with a huge population who still work for the 1%, who live in a large, luxurious orbiting sealed world. (Non-Billionaire not admitted)
