I think all of Roald Dahl’s work is … creepy

The one the hand I feel that this sort of sensitivity is exaggerated, but on the other, I remember that the sort of social problems reflected by the writing in these books was largely swept under the rug for many, many years.

Not sure if Bliss is poking fun at those who think that old books need to be bowdlerized to cater to modern sensibilities, or at those who object to the bowdlerization. The former, I hope.

Considering Dahl’s political views, it seems like he should get a pass from MFL.
