The GQP is about to demonstrate its own power by stupidly shutting down the government. They’re only interested in breaking things. If Americans really want the country to work on solving its problems, they can start by giving Biden another term and electing veto-proof majorities of Democrats in the House and Senate.
I’m guessing that the committee charged with investigating weaponization of government is all over this one. Since they have come up with nothing so far, it would be a good idea to sink their collective teeth into something that actually is based in truth, if for not other reason than to justify their existence.
GOP’s ‘toddler caucus’ is sending party over the cliff: CNN panel
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was roundly roasted on a CNN panel Friday morning for his failure to contain the “toddler caucus” and keep the House of Representatives working coherently. This comes as Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) continues to threaten to call a vote to oust him, and the country barrels toward a shutdown with little progress from GOP leadership on getting funding passed, as demonstrated when correspondent Manu Raju caught up with Gaetz.
Sununu on Growing Young Republican VotersLX News: “You seem invested in young Republicans.”
Sununu: “I do believe that as hard as ‘24 is going to be, if Republicans don’t understand the generational gap that we have right now, ‘28, ‘30, ‘32 and 2036 are going to be disastrous for the Republican party. You have to start building those bridges today.
“We can get that next generation of Republican voter back on the team, [but] a lot of those younger people are disenfranchised right now… the younger Republican priority is very different than the [priorities] of my generation and above. So let’s hear them. Let’s see what they want.”
Sununu on Climate ChangeLX News: “What do you want to do in terms of protecting the globe and climate change reforms?”
Sununu: “Look, climate change is real. It’s happening. I was an environmental engineer — I mean, I lived and breathed this stuff probably more than any other potential candidate that’s out there. What we need — and my approach, and I think what America wants — is smart, sustainable, fiscally responsible approaches to climate change, renewable energy, energy prices.
“I would say New Hampshire has the smartest energy policy of any state in the Northeast. You know, my job isn’t here to come here and ban stuff. We’re here to create opportunities at the lowest cost possible for energy and resources, but also appreciate that we’re going to make that transition to renewable energy sources that work for us…. We still need natural gas and fossil fuels to ensure [that] especially families lower on the income scale can still keep the lights on and keep their house warm.”
Not just stupid, also angry and feeling left out. I suppose that’s a difficult situation to be in altho’ many on the left also feel left out and angry. The difference between the two groups is we still want peace, safety (especially from mass shootings), equality and equity. We want our vote to count; we want change thru dialogue and compromise (not all on just on our side).
House GOP ‘hostage-taking’ condemned as shutdown nears
A coalition of nearly 90 progressive groups and labor organizations condemned U.S. House Republicans on Friday for threatening a destructive government shutdown as they push for steep and unpopular cuts to education, healthcare, food aid, and environmental protection programs.“We urge Congress to quickly pass appropriations bills—at least at the spending levels agreed upon in the bipartisan Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023—and to refuse to entertain legislation that guts critical programs so many Americans rely on,” the ProsperUS coalition wrote in a letter to Republican and Democratic congressional leaders.

Don’t be so hard on the MAGAs. Hunter Biden is all they have. It is their ENTIRE platform.
Be glad that they are totally ignoring the other issues where their traditional values have at least some merit to be discussed.
Be glad the P01135809 is sucking up all the money that might otherwise go to other candidates.
Be glad that Kevin what’s-his-face is so impotent that he can’t even get the Republicans to agree what day of the week it is.
