While other countries are supplying F-16s, Ramirez is addressing the issue of replacement parts, which will be in short supply even from the countries that are sending F-16s. (It is expensive to keep that kind of inventory of spares — even for the US.) There are a number of F-16s in the boneyard outside Tucson — including some whose wings have already gone elsewhere. And less obviously, engines are also salvaged.
What Ramirez ignores is that the boneyard will have to match up planes in Tucson against what is being sent to Ukraine. And then the parts have to be transported to Europe. This will take time. Now, it is possible that we have stores at NATO bases, but they may not exactly match the ones sent to Ukraine. They won’t be flown into Ukraine, but to Poland or one of the other NATO countries, because they will not be going via FedEx.
And depleting US weapons stocks in Europe does seem like a bad idea. Replenishing 155mm ammunition is nothing compared to replenishing F-16 parts.
Plus, you have to have mechanics trained on the F-16. Systems on Migs, etc are going to be significantly different.
As usual, the cons blame Biden for every little thing, no matter how dumb their complaints.
The US isn’t giving F16s directly to the Ukraine. It’s allowing Denmark to give them. The US is providing training, spare parts and logistical support. The planes are expected to arrive by the end of the year when Ukraine pilots complete their training.
MIG-29 pilots, whether from the Ukraine or elsewhere, don’t just jump out of the MIG and into the F-16 Lawn Dart without lengthy training. Not if they wish to survive. If we are in fact performing that training for them, where does it all end? At what point does Russia respond with “Full-scale retaliation”, the usual buzzword for thermonuclear weapons? And at what point do we begin to realize the jeopardy that our so-called “leaders” are placing us in, without our consent?
It has been two steps forward one step back for the F16s. Hey didn’t some of you lefties say we Republicans were traitors for not supporting Ukraine? What gives why was Biden dragging his feet?
He’s going to get us in a war with Russia! He’s not helping enough! Ukraine is a corrupt nation! Ukraine is fighting for liberty! Annnnnndddd repeat, because Right Wingers can’t keep their stories straight
meanwhile, at the southern border…fentanyl…human trafficking…illegals catered to before East Palestine, OH…Joe slurs a “no comment” about Lahaina, HI…FEMA withhold info on the devastation, its causes, its failures, its recovery efforts, its officials lounge in resort hotels while the displaced fire victims relax on cots in a gymnasium…US military families encouraged to apply for food stamps…in short, America Last…yeah, buddy…come on, man…let’s go Brandon…
Biden delays in hopes other NATO countries will provide the jets so that those countries will need to restock their military by sourcing from the U.S. This is another way for the U.S. to supplement the war effort without being directly involved, and not drain the U.S. military budget.
Yet somehow, oligarchs like Prigozin could still get parts to keep his Embraer flying, even though they are sanctioned. Now we need to question his mechanic

I guess this is Ramirez’s subtle way of telling us that he wants Putin to overrun Europe.

Meanwhile, the republicans threaten to pull all aid from Ukraine if elected.
And Europe is sending F-16’s to Ukraine.

I just finished watching a movie called “Executive Action” starring the late Burt Lancaster and the late Robert Ryan. It makes one wonder…

Poor excuse to draw a cool jet.

Doesn’t matter, we shouldn’t have sent then to begin with. The MiG is a perfectly fine jet and far less complicated then the F-16.

It seems that he is criticizing the U.S., and the administration for being so slow to provide assistance.

Ramirez, you might also mention that half of your party wants to cut off all aid to Ukraine and let Russia have the country.

@Ramireztoons….please, Please, PLEASE read and learn…https://www#defense#gov/News/News-Stories/Article/Article/3504621/us-will-train-ukrainian-f-16-pilots-ground-crews/
“The Netherlands and Denmark have announced their intentions to make F-16 aircraft from their fleets available to Ukraine. "
“U.S. Will Train Ukrainian F-16 Pilots, Ground Crews "
US is approving transfer of F16s from other countries and is providing training, not planes.

President Biden is less than enthusiastic about arming Ukraine with air power capable of striking Russia.

I think with China, Russia, and North Korea questioning how vunerable our military is, we should try to pay closer attention. Just saying -
