   Israel has been out of Gaza for almost 20 years, except on the occasions when Hamas broke a truce and committed terrorist acts. And taking hostages and bombing civilians during a truce is bad enough, but you ignore mass murder, rape, torture, and unspeakable atrocities. The Israeli response has been to wage war; the Gazan “health ministry” reports have been shown to be mostly lies (e.g., about the proportion of women and children killed) and omissions (such as including armed terrorists killed in the total count of “civilian” casualties.Innocent civilians are killed in wars (check out Hiroshima and Nagasaki).

   There are organized groups and many individual professors who oppose this lunacy. For example, the National Association of Scholars, the Faculty Network of the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, the Heterodox Academy, and in Canada, the Society for Academic Freedom and Scholarship. Neither all students nor all faculty members are left-wing nutcases.
