The Republicans needed a relatively small population, considered defenseless, that they can turn into the next boogyman to activate their bigoted base.

For starters the Alabama member Tommy Tuberville who’s stopping all military promotions because military women are taking leave for abortions. He’s a n ex football coach so I’d like to know how many of his former players caused unwanted pregnancies and had them aborted?

This cartoon mistakes protection of women’s rights, and protecting children from potentially long term harm as bigotry.

Trans-women don’t belong in women’s sports, at least not under the lose guidelines provided so far. There is a clear physical advantage, and even Kaitlin Gener recognizes it.

Trans women who fully present as men, not even bothering to shave, funny belong in women’s restrooms. I’m sorry, of you put zero effort into your transition, then I’m going to put zero effort to allow you into the same private spaces as my daughter.

Transition surgery is a permanent operation that will forever change someone’s body. Even if they transition back, they will never be the same. There is nothing wrong with waiting until that person is a legal adult before they make that change. I’ll give you that 26 is excessive.

We point to European countries about the hormone blockers, but many of them are dialing back on hormone blockers for children as well because there are discovering long term physical effects.

To me, all this seems sensible. Your worried about suicide, I get it and I agree. There is cause for concern there. However, good psychiatric care and counseling can help people with through those feelings until they are old enough to go further should they still choose to do so.

This all seems like common sense to me, and less then ten years ago would not have been considered controversial.

What makes America exceptional is that we’re not a monolithic single race, single ethnicity, single religion, or single anything … instead, we tolerate differences in each other and can work together to solve problems. The extreme right sees this as a threat.

Bigotry, and hatred of “the other”, is one of the pillars of the republicon party. Along with “YOU are the real victim”, and “We’re angry as hell and we’re not gonna take it anymore” (even though we can’t really define WHY we’re angry).

Christian conservatives have proudly gone full support for the Republican Nazi Party.

No public condemnations from the church. No public condemnations from any conservative group anywhere.

Every ignorant, racist, bigot, and misogynist are welcome to join the GOP in celebrating hate.

Remember when the left used to champion women’s rights and fought for legislation like Title IX?

Well, vacation is over ladies. Time to turn over your rights and opportunities to men claiming to be women.

According to my Webster’s 1983 dictionary, “Woke” represents those who are “alert to racial prejudice and discrimination” of course there are people claiming they are unaware of what goes on around them in reality (republicans) and call themselfs anti-woke

The term transgender is about as clear as looking at a cupboard where all the labels have been removed from the cans. You don’t know what you’re getting until you open the can to see what is inside. Is it a transsexual, who will go physically from one sex to the other; someone who uses the clothing of the opposite sex as sexual fetish items; someone who uses the clothing of the opposite sex as emotional fetish items (transvestites /crossdressers/ full time crossdressers (aka transgenderist) etc. Of this total group only the transsexuals will need psychological and hormone therapy and will eventually receive sex reassignment surgery. Of the transgenderist, many lie to their counselors about being a transsexual in order to get hormones (or buy them on the black market) but do not have any desire to have their sex reassigned. Sound confusing enough for adults, imagine how it is for kids; just because children play dress up as members of the opposite sex (mostly male to female because women wear whatever they desire) does not mean they need counseling or hormone blockers, they are just being kids; then again they do not need to be beaten into submission physically or psychologically either

‘Not FBI’s fault Trump surrounded himself with criminals’: Dem lawmaker exposes ‘cesspool of corruption’ around ex-president

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) methodically took apart Republican complaints about the politicization of the Department of Justice and the FBI during a contentious hearing of the House Judiciary Committee.FBI director Christopher Wray appeared before the panel to address GOP complaints about investigations involving Donald Trump, and Lieu used his time to highlight a litany of the former president’s allies, associates and advisers who had been convicted of crimes during his own administration.

    .

Ex-FBI official says GOP is telling agents: "If you investigate our party, you are going to pay the price’

Former FBI official Frank Figliuzzi wasn’t happy after watching Republicans grill FBI director Christopher Wray in the House Wednesday. While Democrats questioned Wray for ignoring warnings about Jan. 6, Republicans sought answers to a slew of conspiracy theories and culture war grievances that go all the way back to mask requirements during the COVID crisis.

Republicans, like almost everybody else (to be fair) basically don’t comprehend gender affirmation. It is admittedly a baffling idea, except to those who are experiencing it. Something like synaesthesia—seeing sound, feeling flavors. If it’s happening to you, it couldn’t be more obvious, but it’s a closed book to almost anyone not personally experiencing the phenomenon. Unlike synaesthesia, gender non-conformity horrifies and frightens people, especially anyone with authoritarian impulses. And as a background to everything Republicans are up to, “cruelty is the point”. It’s one way of expressing disapproval. Make them do what you want them to do, and make them suffer.

To my way of thinking, the most admirable people in this whole mess are the parents who lovingly and sympathetically recognize that their kid(s) with gender dysphoria must be suffering from real unhappiness. And unnecessarily. This or that congressperson or state legislator has no business making trouble for the families dealing with these issues, and should just butt the hell out, instead of grandly parading their ignorance and ill will in the form of legislation designed to hurt people.

‘Worse than theater’: Ex-FBI official buries GOP for fomenting ‘massive distrust in the government’

Former Federal Bureau of Investigation Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Frank Figliuzzi lambasted congressional Republicans on Deadline White House for their behavior at Wednesday’s Judiciary Committee hearing in the United States House of Representatives.Right-wing lawmakers still loyal to ex-President Donald Trump were particularly aggressive toward FBI Director Christopher Wray, whom they alleged mishandled the criminal probes into Hunter Biden and accused of harboring contempt for conservatives.
