I doubt that even totally incompetent judges would spew that sort of thing. They might spew slightly equivalent legalese. And of course at least one of them DID rule that the government cannot enforce rules about speaking truth or even incitements to illegality.

For public figures and especially politicians knowingly lying should be treated to the same penalties and harsher as perjury in courts.

SCOTUS in a nutshell. Well done Clay. Anytime chief justice Roberts is called the center or balance of SCOTUS makes me want to puke! The court is so gerry-mandered to the far right is disgusting! Roberts in the ’70s would be the most conservative member of the court not a line between 3 sane justices and 5 alt right whack jobs! Americans deserve better but the future is not bright, as Biden is a aging dullard and the repubbas greedy opportunists! America is cornholed unless the DNC listens to reason and lets progressive voices form platforms which will save America and our planet, The time is now! Wake up Sleepy Joe!

I think there’s a need for some way to acknowledge the veracity of information on line. However, I’m not sure that having the Executive branch as the arbiter is the correct course of action. Unintended consequences could be a “careful what you ask for” if a White House in the future that does not have “truth” as an operating feature. We just had a president like that; do we want a future executive to have that power?

I would like to see a website on which the Democratic and Republican parties each have a representative write an article on any subject under discussion, with the RNC and DNC agreeing that the article is their accepted viewpoint. It could also include any dissenting opinions with a byline explaining who is dissenting and what credentials they have to do so. Updates and changes could be added as the parties see the need. Any inaccurate information could be highlighted with directions on how to find the proof that proves it to be untrue. Each party would be responsible for keeping their information up to date and factual. Each party would also be responsible for highlighting the lies in the opposing article and providing the link proving that the other party has included inaccurate (aka lies) information.

I’d call it the “Pros” and the “Cons”.

It is frustrating/lamentable that so many — behind the ignorance-denial barrier [removable via education] — have their irrational, distorted, self-destructive, insular, alt-reality vision continuously reinforced  by well-funded, right-wing, talk-radio. and tv/internet opinion-presented-as-news propaganda, … and must needlessly endure the high cost of ignorance in terms of longevity, health, and reduced employment, as they are told. by self-anointed authorities, that the “price of education” is too high and must be avoided to be loyal to their in-group..

Every Rumper approved judge that doesn’t rule as Rump would is now an official slezebag in orangeland. The wheels of the Rump bus will drive quickly over you for violating the orange rule of law. Do as Rump says, subject to change three seconds from now but could change again in eight seconds.
