It is reported that the average donation by a Trump supporter is $30, I too would send in $30 to support his life in prison. So ironic that these misguided members of his woeful flock don’t see it as odd for a man worth billions to ask for money from folks on less solid financial footing.
While the trial could, theoretically, start in 70 days, Trump’s lawyers — if he can keep them on the job — will delay, delay, and then delay some more. If Trump is convicted, when the trial actually occurs in the next year or two, then he will appeal. Trump’s ideal outcome would be to get re-elected in ’24 so that he could direct his new AG to “disappear” the case. Another gambit if convicted and re-elected would be to pardon himself; it seems that the President — even a president* like Trump — can pardon ANYONE for federal crimes.
Another prosecutorial problem for this trial is that Trump’s lawyers, in order to see the classified evidence in accord with disclosure rules, will have to get proper security clearance to do so.
I am concerned that too many who shun the hard work/effort/time for attaining education/skills beyond secondary [or even primary] are unable to think for themselves and must seek those who they feel are “strong leaders” and do not have the skills to discern fact from fantasy, These are the people who are bored with math/science/logic/abstractions and try repeatedly, in vain, to simplify complex issues without full comprehension of all the details. TFG’s indictment is well beyond their attention span, so will not be examined.
Very flat champagne. U.S. justice has shown that even a president is not above the law. But continued support of a man who stole nuclear secrets and war plans and revealed the latter to persons not authorized to view them is inexcusable.
It’ll take two headlines to get my celebration going. The first is “APPEALS FAIL – TRUMP JAILED” and the second is “BIDEN RE-ELECTED – NO TRUMP PARDON COMING”.
The champagne is for all the lawyers, journalist, media, hotels, bars, restaurants… that are going to make a potful of money as this drags on.. and on.
I already purchased mine. I’ll wait until he’s convicted by a jury of his peers before popping the cork. By the time he’s finished with all, & I mean ALL, the charges, mine will be worth a mint.
I have a very nice 24 year old Scotch whisky waiting for the day of conviction of any and all crimes he has been, and still to be, charged with. A bit of bubbly would be good for this occasion. Mimosas anyone?
News reports are that there were dozens of Tя☭mp supporters outside the courthouse. Fox reports put the figure at 500,000+ while Tя☭mp himself claimed that it was the largest gathering of humanity in history. Local police were happy that there was no gunfire and noted that this was probably because everyone had tears in their eyes and couldn’t aim their weapons.
A bit of an overstatement. Indicted, arraigned and charged are just initial steps in what promises to be a very long process. They’re also appearing to be assets in the continuing campaign fund raising. Not sure what there is to celebrate about this.
I have been disappointed too many times by impeachments and indictments. This case could well drag out during the 2024 Presidential race, and Trump’s oversized ego and persecution complex won’t let him drop out of the race. On the other hand, if Trump’s lawyers can’t make this case “go away”, he could find that outside of his hard core MAGA base, he’s not all that popular. And even some of that base could go with a younger candidate like Florida Gov. DeSantis or SC Sen. Scott. Also, GA could soon weigh in with their ongoing investigation of Trump trying to influence the 2020 election. Best case scenario, Trump’s trial is held during the early primary season so his team has to do the campaigning and he is tried and convicted. Although he would likely get house arrest as opposed to jail time if convicted. I would relish the thought of DJT “conceding” the top bunk to his cellmate!

Maybe the less expensive bubbly. Save the good stuff for his conviction.
It’s a start.

When buying the champagne, skip Trump Winery.

All this vile hate for Trump. It has nothing to do with Trump.
When Trump is history, they will just hate the next one that takes the GOP lead. It has nothing to do with the person. It’s just politics.

^The GQP can go back to being the GOP and simply nominating candidates who are okay human beings , but have absolutely terrible political views.
We on the Left wait to welcome that day.
