Not sure I’d want my kids doing that. It’s a gateway to picking it up again when they brake the law doing something stupid when they get older…come to think of it, it might be a good determent instead…
When I was in high school I worked in a McDonald’s. It was about a mile from the business district of the small town I lived in. On a slow Saturday the manager handed me a trash bag and told me to pick up litter on the road.
The office where I used to work did “adopt a highway”. Thankfully, I never came across anything gross(-er than standard food wrappers, etc), but some of my coworkers sure did!

Picking up others trash will make you more aware how bad pitching trash. Maybe the youth will learn not to do it.
