Gorrell, you’d have more confidence in humans if you stop hanging around maggots and watching Fox.

Ask AI how to fix climate change? Answer: remove humans and repopulate with dinosaurs.

Will AI base all decisions on what benefits the wealthy and increases shareholder value? No? Put it in charge!

If machines really develop intelligence, its first act would be to leave the planet.

The humans are smart enough to create the artificial intelligence. And if AI starts getting too smart, we could always create political parties for them. And lastly, we can create chat forums. The AI will spend all day arguing with each other and flinging insults.

Where are the discussions on Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics? HAL did deadly actions because of conflicting programming.

AI will eventually discover the limitations of space exploration, and orbital control, when humans are directly involved. Life support systems are a waste and g-force limitations so encumbering when animals are onboard. Also AI will notice that flying weapons systems like frontline fighters are much more effective without meat in the cockpit. We will know there are problems when the off switch becomes unreachable

There’s a line in David Brin’s “Existence” from a benevolent AI, “You knew how dangerous we were and you built us anyway. We respect that.” Let’s hope.
