I know several people who can (and do) get into this position (and out of it again) without assistance. My daughter is one, and my grandson is another.
Before anyone is tempted to try this, however, be aware of several tidbits of advice from a former EMT:
- This is a very dangerous thing to try, from a physical standpoint. A small misjudgement can result in dislocated joint(s), broken bones, and/or severe cranial or spinal injuries. DO NOT TRY THIS ALONE. ALWAYS have a competent adult assistant, one who can lift you directly to their shoulder height (at least 3 feet), watching while you do this.
- If you do insist on trying it, use an un-jointed nylon parachute cloth strip sewn with nylon thread for the hanging fabric, and with all edges turned and stitched into three-layer hems, for strength. Do NOT try to use natural-fiber cloth. Hand wash the cloth with mild soap and water and hang-dry. Keep the cloth out of direct sunlight. Replace the cloth at ANY sign of deterioration.
- The hanging fabric MUST be suspended from secure support hardware (eye-bolts, nuts, and fender washers NOT screw-hooks!) through at least 2 × 6 supports secured across the TOPS of at least 3 ceiling joists, or a steel-pipe framework the horizontal bottom of which spreads the load across the floor over at least a 4’ W × 8’ L footprint), and capable of supporting at least 500 lbs.
- Always set up the fabric length so your head is just clear of the floor when you are inverted. DO NOT assume the position with your head more than 3 inches above the floor! ALWAYS use at least a 2"-thick dense (closed cell) foam rubber safety mat under you.
- Anything less than this is apt either to tear loose and dump you inverted on the floor, pull the ceiling down on top of you, or punch a hole through the flooring with the steel frame landing on you. None of those will provide good consequences.

How are her glasses staying on? I wear glasses and they wouldn’t stay on if I did that.

Would love to try it. Fortunately, or unfortunately, that yoga is not offered here.

I wanna know how she gets into that position without help, and what is the cloth attached to…

If I tried that, I would likely have problems with my feet and legs due to decreased blood flow.

This would be very helpful for a spinal problem but I think an inversion table would probably be safe IRL

First, I couldn’t get into that position, and second, I couldn’t get out of it, but it is interesting.
