Honestly, I don’t think it is fair to call them a kangaroo court. I think it IS fair to call them an activist court, and a court with a political agenda.
The dictionary suggests Mike is misusing the term Kangaroo Court:
A kangaroo court is a court that ignores recognized standards of law or justice, carries little or no official standing in the territory within which it resides, and is typically convened ad hoc. A kangaroo court may ignore due process and come to a predetermined conclusion.
Unfortunately not amusing. But realistically the SCOTUS showed it was no longer what it purported to be in 2000, Bush v. Gore, when it decided that it would determine the winner of the presidential election, not like in several South American countries.
I don’t believe that falsifying tax returns gets a free pass—gifts from “friends” nor payments that may be covered up by false real estate businesses are “part of doing business”…..CHIEF JUSTICE ROBERTS needs to do his job or find another one!
The legal dilemma here is that being dishonest, avaricious, and corrupt might be ethical violations but, unless they violate some actual law, they don’t rise to the level of criminal conduct, and the only penalty for being unethical is impeachment (since justices serve during “good Behaviour”), and that’s a political remedy, not a legal one. All the same, the majority of federal impeachments in American history have indeed been of judges, and Clarence Thomas has certainly qualified himself to be added to the total. Not gonna happen, of course, given today’s House of Representatives, but it’s even less likely that the chief prosecutor of the District of Columbia will find some excuse to get him fitted for an orange jumpsuit.
Mitch McConnell did, by denying duly elected Democratic Presidents their constitutional right to pick at least two justices.
Saddling the USA with a lying right wing hack majority. One that cares more about imposing horrible agendas and taking away hard earned rights of citizens, rather than upholding the laws of the USA, and its persuit of becoming a more perfect union.

The Republican Party made SCOTUS a joke. It made up rules on the fly to force in justices of its choosing. They are disgusting.

The biggest one is Moscow mitch, then trump, then of course Bush sr appointing the most corrupt justice in recent memory, and on and on.

SCOTUS needs a complete overhaul. Way to many cases are determined by pure politics, not the law.

Actually. I would say that there have been many times when it amounted to that throughout its history. The Dred Scott Decision comes to mind.
