Y’know, back in high school I moved from a place where I had ton of friends to a place where you practically needed a membership card to be spoken to. The nuns who taught us were from a similar background. One day, signs popped all over the building with just one word: “ELAN”. The nuns wanted us to show “ELAN”. When I looked up what it meant I was disgusted. They apparently 1. had no clue what the world they lived in was like and 2. had even less clue what the high school students — all girls — were dealing with. I wish teachers would just stick to verified educable subjects and give up “cute” ideas that can cause immeasurable stress to young people.
