Is there still an International Criminal Court warrant out for George “W” Bush and Dick Cheney for war crimes committed at Gitmo and Abu Graib?

Difference – Ukraine can fight back

Vlad will use any justification for his butchery.

I did not support the Iraq war, it was an awful blunder. But were we kidnapping children from their families & intentionally dropping missiles on schools and hospitals?

Where have we heard this before?

Ukraine is fighting back with a will! They may not be able to win outright, but they will hold Mr. Putin to a standoff.

I see the International Criminal Court has modified it’s arrest warrant. It now reads “anyone who looks like putin” .. now we’ll get some results.

“Round up the usual suspects!”

They did till 2014 when USA told them to give up nukes and Russia would not invade. Another stupid move.

Republicans and Russians are both aggressive liars.

Biden did say he was okay with a “small” invasion of Ukraine.

When it became apparent that no nation in the West gave a rip when Russia stole the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine, Putin had all the green lights he needed to just keep right on going.

Segue to comparative situation in American politics: If politicians (not naming any in particular) can get away with lying, cheating, and instigating insurrections without consequence, what’s to stop them from trying again — a little harder — next time?

Well, it worked for W

War criminal Putin is W’s soul mate and Trump’s best friend.

That is a claim that was being made by Russia – and their FOX puppets – before Russia invaded.

George W. Bush – “I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straightforward and trustworthy. We had a very good dialogue. I was able to get a sense of his soul; a man deeply committed to his country and the best interests of his country.”

Joe Biden- “I don’t think you have a soul.”

If W could read, he’d be pist at this comparison.

Bush went to war vs. Iraq (and its non-existent WMDs) as retaliation for 9/11, which was perpetrated by Saudis.

He went to war vs. Afghanistan to find Osama bin Laden, who was hiding in Pakistan.

So, two wars, costing $4.5 trillion, against the wrong enemies.

Dead American count: 9/11, 2996; Iraq, 4431; Afghanistan, 2325.

Bin Laden spent about a million dollars on his attacks, or $333 per dead American. Bush racked up more than double the US corpse count but at a cost of ~$4.5 trillion, or $666,000,000 per dead American. Bin Laden was clearly the better Republican, having gotten 2 million times more bang for his buck.

Of course, they’re both pikers compared to the brilliantly cost-effective Donald Trump, who managed to rack up his 1,150,000 dead Americans by not spending a penny to fight coronavirus.

Both invasions were a big mistake, and both were to some extent caused by egos, but otherwise there’s little comparison because the approaches and execution are/were so different.

Way to destabilize the world George . . .

Pretty sure shootin putin would have invaded regardless of what happened twenty years ago. Not saying we were right to go into Iraq(we weren’t) but I have my doubts that one act led to the other.
