It’s a good thing that Thomas Brudenell (1797–1868) was the Seventh Earl of Cardigan and not the Seventh Earl of Thrumberglocken.

    (“Cardigan sweater” is redundant redundant.)

I quite like them. My husband wears one every day at work, on top of a dress shirt. More comfortable than a jacket, but still stylish.

Mr. Rogers wore it well. As did Eddie Murphy! Jimmy won with the cardigan.

Jimmy Carter never got the respect or credit he deserves. Still doesn’t. Republicans still trash him, but…that is their right, and Jimmy, to HIS credit, always takes the high road, and is always polite abd positive. NO scandals in his life.

If you wear a cardigan sweater and build houses for the poor when your 90, guess which one people talk about?

Putting on a sweater makes me think of Mr. Rodgers, not Jimmy.

I was in my 20’s when Jimmy Carter was President. We were directed to turn down our thermostats and but on more clothes. High prices for natural gas and gasoline. The country was said to be running out of oil. OPEC was pushing us around and Iran had us by the balls.

It turns out that the oft derided President Carter was the best among us. I refer to people, not politicians

The Double Standard…oh wait, that would be the high interest rates and rate of inflation, never mind…

The lights of the camera set-up generated such heating that Jimmy had to turn on the air conditioning to keep from sweating and defeating the entire message.

(Jimmy was never a good, competent liar. He should have left it to others. He was a good man, a poor president.)
