I’d at least like to TRY that system.Couldn’t be worse than our current “richest sociopath” system.

We should probably concentrate on more important matters such as universal healthcare.

I think cancel culture has always been with us, a privilege exercised (until recently) just by white males (am one). Now in our more inclusive society, we all get to share in the fun.

So you are saying you are good at your job but a sad excuse for a human being! Even I don’t believe that Ted. But now you seem to be saying jerks are okay if they can do their jobs well. Who cares if they harass coworkers or threaten their jobs. Keep them on anyway. Weinstein should be released!!! Start a protest!!

The Victor writes history. If the culture is based on the propaganda made by the victor it should be corrected to be true and honest. Those who embrace and thrive on the lies should oppose “cancel culture”.

Why not both?

I chuckled at President Keanu. But seriously, even if he were bad at the job of president, he’d be a big improvement over what we’ve had the past few decades.

It’s possible that someone can be both nice and competent. Happens all the time. No reason not to require both.

This is a good comment on our society. And, we can all recall a kind of validation culture. I remember seeing someone hired because he was a certain race, irregardless of the fact that he was incompetent. Or, another employee that stole from the till but was allowed to keep his job because he was of the right race. Yes, they were all validated for having a quality that had nothing to do with performing their jobs.

If you’ve ever worked in a small family-owned company, you know that “Validation Culture” already exists… although only for family members and their close friends…

I’ve been following Ted Rall’s work for some time, and have come to suspect that no one, ever, anywhere, at any time in history (human or divine), has ever been quite pure enough to not cause him pain or nausea (or both). There are no shades of gray nor any room for human frailty (or plain stupidity) in Mr. Rall’s worldview. I bet he’s a gas at parties.

Whoa, dude! Like, gnarly happenings, man. And no, bro, if I didn’t lose the Valley Girl talk for my role in Dracula, it’s gonna be radical as the head honcho!

Too many people confuse “cancelling” with just plain ol’ “consequences”, which have been part of culture forever.

Ted is very good at making absurd cartoons.

Even thought Ted is on the other end of the political stick for myself, I really appreciate his grasp on how dangerous WOKESTERS can be in a free nation. They should be voted off the island ASAP.

Might not be a bad idea to have nice people running things. Could it really be much worse?

Ted you really have a way of framing things from the Right Wing.

I can think of a number of overachievers in history who would have been upended by cancel culture.
