Angels’ share, I guess but it never fails to happen. You know, “Honest, I’m not hungry. I already had a snack.”

Well my wife is a little different. Just yesterday we stopped to get a burger. My better half naturally had a BOGO coupon and set both burgers in front of me, contenting herself with some fries. They were very good burgers and I insisted she at least have a bite. Surprisingly she did, but only the one bite. Strong will there.

My husband is like that. When we eat out, most of the times he refuses the dessert, claiming he’s too full and could not ingest anything anymore, not even a caper sized bite of food; then proceeds eating half of my dessert. Good thing I don’t mind sharing it with him. ☺

My wife has a history of doing this exact thing. When I call her on it her response is, “But I didn’t want a snack, I wanted part of yours.”

That has never happened in my household, as a kid or as an adult. If we don’t want food when offered, why would we want it when somebody is eating it?

Speaking of olives, they grow olives in California. So how come ALL the olives in the grocery stores come from Spain or some other country? How is it more profitable to bring in olives from halfway around the world than from 100 miles away???

How does Arlo stay skinny when snacking so much? That does NOT happen in real life.

Janis is just doing a taste test, She wouldn’t want Arlo to eat rancid olives.

I impressed myself. I actually remembered this one, although I had forgotten that it is 9 years old.

Angels share. Boy, I haven’t heard that one in a long time. Obviously, I have to go to wineries more often.

Wise people anticipate the mooching and bring enough. And I have to make sure I reserve enough to pay dog tax. My dog believes he is due some small portion at the end of each meal and will stare until he collects. If you don’t pay, like the taxman, he becomes demanding and barks. He only wants the one small share and doesn’t mooch during the meal.

It’s probably because she’s deluding herself on dietary self-control. It reminds me of when we had a box of donuts at work. Those that were ‘dieting’ would cut one in half, and ‘not really have one’ by only eating half. We’d end up with several half donuts. Apparently, no one wanted the other half of someone else’s donut and they’d be trashed. Drove me nuts.

I weight my snacks. I know, how anal, right? That said it does help with my weight. Wife always grabs a handful of my Lay’s Original potato chips so I weight out 55 grams and she takes her handful and I get roughly 50 grams which is what I alot myself come snack time.

He is eating cheese and olives on a flat plate? Seems like the olives would roll off. I would need some bread or crackers with the cheese.

From Merriam Webster: the angel’s share: the amount of an alcoholic drink (such as cognac, brandy, or whiskey) that is lost to evaporation when the liquid is being aged in porous oak barrels

Up to 1 percent of the volume of the cask can be lost each year through evaporation, sometimes called the angel’s share.—James Suckling, Wine Spectator, 30 Apr. 1992
