Koch network will oppose Trump in 2024

The web of conservative activist groups and donors informally known as the “Koch network” plans to oppose former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential primaries, reported The Washington Post on Sunday — breaking a years-long silence as the network has sat out “overt” politics for a few years.“The move marks the most notable example to date of an overt and coordinated effort from within conservative circles to stop Trump from winning the GOP nomination for a third straight presidential election,” reported Isaac Arnsdorf. “Some Republicans have grown increasingly frustrated with Trump after disappointing midterm elections in which he drew blame for elevating flawed candidates and polarizing ideas. But absent a consolidated effort to stop Trump, many critics fear he will be able to exploit GOP divisions and chart a course to the nomination as he did in 2016.”

An entire Pennsylvania family of Trump supporters, including James Daub (62), Deborah Daub (59) and their daughter Morgan (26), were found dead in their backyard. An investigation found several notes inside the house that the family made a “joint decision” to end their lives.

There were no signs of foul play, no evidence that anyone else was present, and no signs of forced entry. The physical evidence pointed to self-inflicted gunshot wounds. Police also interviewed people close to the family who confirmed they were devout Christian conservatives.

The mother and daughter were avid bowlers, and Brett Stabley was the owner of a bowling supply shop who knew them well and gave lessons. He said they were despondent over Trump no longer being president:

Stabley said the Christian, churchgoing family “was never shy about letting anybody know what their beliefs were” when it came to religion and politics. Morgan and Deborah “very, very huge” supporters of former President Donald Trump, Stabley said.

“They were just so hell-bent on Trump winning, like this could be in the end if he doesn’t,” Stabley said, referring to an instance when he saw them just before the 2020 election. He said he stopped seeing the two after that.

Once again, it’s more than a tad hypocritical when conservatives accuse others of indoctrination. This family’s front yard was “littered” with Trump signs before the 2020 election. When Roe v. Wade was overturned last June, they put a ton of anti-abortion signs in the yard. Ironically, they considered themselves to be very “pro-life.”

When the billionaires stop supporting the last guy, you know his day is over. The Koch bros know when a product has passed its prime and they will direct their money elsewhere. End of story.

Whenever he has a rally, people should yell “Lock him up!”

Dump evidently made the calculation that a run for and possible occupying of the US presidency would be a clever business move. As it looks, now, it was one of the worst business moves of his nefarious career. All the presidency has done for him is to call attention to said business practices. Such scrutiny he can tie down in the courts, but only for a time. And it looks like he might be running out of time.
